ON BRIDGE
Note: Our special guest columnist
is Lynn Yarborough.
Hades, 1953
(With apologies to C. S. Lewis.)
My Dear Wormwood,
I was very pleased to receive
your latest report on that luscious
fellow who calls himself a Bridge-
Player. We have lots of self-styled
Bridge - Players down here, and
they're a 11 fascinating creatures,
you know. Nobody screams with
anguish quite like a fair-to-mid-
dling player who has been taken
out of a redoubled two-bid by his
partner. And you can be sure we
always manage to have the vulner-
able when that happens.
Oh, yes—that fellow you are
working on—be careful with him;
we don't want to lose him. The
most important thing is to make
sure he gets the idea that he's bet-
ter than his partner. This part
really isn't difficult; all you have
to do is keep him busy calling at-
tention to his partner's errors, and
he'll never have time to think about
SENIOR RING NOTICE
Senior Rings will be de-
livered March 10 and 11 in
the lounge. Approximate-
ly $20 wiU be due then.
Beginning March 9 the Stu-
dent Health Service, West Hall,
will start immunization for tet-
anus, typhoid, and smallpox,
will also give booster shots to
students desiring them.
Students leaving the United
States this summer and need-
ing smallpox vaccination are
urged to report early for this
immunization.
the really important things. Above
all, keep him so busy thinking about
either his own superiority or in-
feriority that he doesn't have time
to think about his play.
That fellow who started the bro-
mide about never learning from
kings is an amusing character. He
is always on declarer's left and al-
ways holds four kings. He lets out
some delicious screams every time
he picks up his hand. Very amus-
ing.
Your affectionate Uncle,
