A COUPLE OF PARTIES AGO. Will Rice College cele-
brated the coming of spring with their annual formal dance at the
Sagewood Country Club. Rose corsages were presented to all the
luck}/ Strls attending. Seen there wer Fredrick Specht and Patsy Yale,
Karl Benson and Carol Stevens, Paul Engelbert and Jane Richmond,
Joe Young and Peggy Loman, Myrl Miller and Elizabeth Wencek,
David Martz and Marilyn Revis, and Crozer Zinn and Mary Clare
Peden.
A PARTY AGO, John Bandy and Jean Rodgers, Flea Cole
and Terry Kay Cibbins, Sue Doolen and Gary Shaner, Dick Bloom
and Mary Lacey, Duane Andrews and Patty Sparling, Tom Mcin-
tosh and Virginia Arhos, Pete Nustad and Barbara Davis, and Bill
Cook and Margaret Maxwell were seen at the Hanszen College Semi-
formal Dance held in the Azalea Room at the Shamrock.
The CRLS, MELIUS, and SLLS all reported very enjoyable
formals last Friday night. The EBLS held its Luau at the River Oaks
Aquatic Club Friday night also. Honoring BarkJey Adams, the
PALS gathered for a fun beach party in Galveston, Saturday.
SUNDAY THE NROTC (and Marines) massed for a pic-
nic while Colonel and Mrs. Fairbanks and members of the AROTC
and their dates got together for dinner at the Officers' Club, Elling-
ton Air Force Base.
THE EBLS WILL have their closed formal Friday, April 10,
at the Braeburn Country Club, Stags will be invited and it will be a
program danci*,

truth is realized; we are at Rice,

the roof of the Biology Building.

Blanket Taxes
Ready April 13
All students who will be en-
rolled in Rice next year are
requested to sign next year's
blanket tax cards at the physic-
al education office in the gym.
The office will have the
blanket taxes ready Monday,
April 13, and students may
sign them until the latter part
of May. After this time, a
late-signing fee of 50 cents will
be charged.
The office will be open from
9am to 4 pm on weekdays and
from 10 am to 3 pm on Sat-
urdays.

The First Annual Southwestern
Intercollegiate Photo Salon, spon-
sored by the Memorial Student
Center Camera Committee, Texas
A. and M. College will be held
May 2-11 on the A. and M. cam-
pus.
The purpose of this salon is to
initiate intercollegiate competi-
tion in the field of photography
among the colleges and universi-
ties of Region Nine of the Asso-
ciation of College Unions, and the
salon is open to all members of
clubs or associations sponsored by
any college or university in this
Region.
Interested persons are to sub-
mit pictures in any of five classi-
fications: Nature, still life, sports,
news, portraiture. The judges will
select the outstanding photogroph
of each category and the out-
standing photo of the entire sa-
lon. Trophies and ribbons will be
awarded. Judging will take place
in the MSC on May 2.
