THE subscriber takes this method to
inform the public in general, that he
litis become the sole proprietor of the
Steam Circujar Saw Mill, heretofore
conducted under the namlc and style of Henderson
X Gibson, which will hereafter be earned on under
the nunc of L. I>. Hendertson alone.
Here permit him to return his most grateful thanki
to the old friends and customers of the late firm ot
Henderson & Gibson, for the very liberal patronage
which was extended to them during the past season,
in the purchase of their lumber, and he hopes by
keeping on hand at all times, a constant supply of
seasoned lumber, at low prices, to merit a continua-
tion of the same.
He lias taken a peat dcnl of pains, at a consider-
able expense, to cause-way the road through the
i'ine flats, leading from his mill lo the prairie,in the
direction of the Western counties, over which wag-
ons can now pass without any difficulty, with heavy
loads.
He has employed Mr. Wpi. P. Snellas sawyer, anil
Mr. .In. KitclielL temporarily, as engineer, and from
the known ability of these gentlemen, as sawyer and
engineer, he feels no hesitancy in pledging himself
to fill bills, with as much dispatch and correctness,
as any mill in Red River county. His mill has been
running every day since the late purchase, and he
has been cutting from ftHMl:to litHftl feet of lumber per
cay. He has now accumulated on theyard.upwards
of 300,0011 feet of lumber, niccly stacked, and ready
for stile, at the price of $1 -■> cts. per hundred feet,
cash, and when the money is not paid when the lum-
ber is delivered. $1 ftO cts., will be required.
His lumber is sawed expressly for the Western
trade, consisting ot flooring, weatherboarding, ceil-
ing, feneiiig. inch plank of various widths, and
lengths, scantling, joists. Utiiitig. paling, a large lot
•if 1 i ntid 1 ^ inch lumber, for window sash, panel
doors, door trames. and suitable lumber for building
hox houses.
Teamsters visiting the mill from a distance, wish-
ing to rest their teams, will find spleudid grass and
plenty nf water near a little stream called White
tiak. (in the barrens) one mile south of the mill.
Persons wishing to send hills, or desirous of other
information iu relation to lumber, will address me at
t'larksville. w-herc their ieonwiuniciitiong will lie
promptly attended lo.
Mr. F.. I). Goode has been employed by the sub-
scriber, to attend to the sale of lumber, and other
business connected with the mill, where he will take
great pleasure in waiting oti customers.
