CELEBRATED GER.MA1TBITTERS,
prepared bv dr. c. m. jackscn.
No. 120 Arch St., one door below Siith St. Phil.
Their power over the above diseases is not ex-
celled, if equalled, by (tny other preparation in the
United States, as the cures attest, in many cases
after skilful physicians had failed.
These Bitters are worthy the attention of Inva-
lids. Possessing great virtues in the rectification
of the liver and ies3er glands, exercising the most
searching power in weakness and affections of tbe
digestive organs, tbey are withal safe certain and
pleasant.
Testimony from Texas.
B. F. Rucker, Washington Texas, Sept. 24th.
I 1853. says : " I have sold the last bottle of Ger-
I man bitters to-day. It i3 quite a popular medi-
j cine, and those who have used it spcal: in the high-
est terms of its salutary influence "
S. W. Fisher, Matagorda, Texas, July 15th. 1853,
says: "The German Bitters have become very
popular here and are moving off rapidly."
T. H. McMahon k Co., Richmond, Texas, Sept.
22, 1852, says: '-We arc pleased to in/orm you
that your German ISitters give universal satisfac-
tion ; it 13 in great demand. Send as carlv as
practicable/'
George Young, Wheelock, Texas, April 17.
1854, says: ■' The German Bitter3 have arrived
in good time for tbe summer sickness, and 1 think
there will be a good demand for them, as I find
every person who has used them pronounced it the
best medicine of the kind they have ever known."
These Bitters are entirely vegetable, thereby
possessing great advantage over most of the pre-
parations recommended for similar diseases.

CORN MILLS—Mtnufactured in \

Mills are not excelled by any that are built in cr
'Drought to the State for fast grinding, dnrabilitv !

The capacity of these mills can be increased to ai- \
most any extent, by an increase of power and ;

diminishing the speed and quantitr of work. The

Erery woman should know tJiat if 5hc is In poor, sickly,
debilitated condition of health, making existence a burden
to herself and a source of painful anxiety tc her relatives
and friends, aud perhaps, (horrible re jection !) entailing
and inflicting her own maladies arA suHcrings u|*on her
children, that it is her duty to understand why ;ind from
what cause her sufferings arise^that remedy and relief
may, while yet tliere is time, be avaik'd «if, the causes be
avoided in future, and her hei.lth restored, that she may
be fitted for the duties and capable cf the eujojinents of
life.
Let every woman look at the emaciated form, the death-
like complexion, the deep-buried, lustreless eye, the sunk-
en cheek, the gloomy and depressed spirits, the shattered
nerves, the prostrate and helpHM condition of many a
wife, mother, daughter, or sister, if not herself included,
wiUiin her own circle, whose d;iys are days of agony, and
ask herself, "Must this continue? Must this be? Is
there no remedy? No relief? No hope?"
The remedy is by knowing the causes and avoiding
. them, and knowing the remedies and benefiting by them.
These are pointed out in
XHE MARRIED WOMAN'S
PRIVATE MEDICAL COMPANION,
BY DR. A. M. MADRICEAU,
professor of diskases Of womes. ^
On-e hundredth Edition (500,000). tSrno., pp. 250.
[ox fixe paper, extra binding, $1 CO ]
" Every complaint to which a woman is subject, from girl-
hood to womanhood, as also as wife and as mother, are Wi-
ly described, with the causes, the symptoms, and also pro-
per mode of treatment, in a plain, simple, but in the most
chaste language, easily understood. And thus every wo-
man can discover, by comparing her own symptoms with
those described, the nature, character, and causes of her
complaint; and be spared much anxiety and suffering.
The wife about becoming a mother has often need of
instruction and advice of the utmost importance to her
future health, in respect to which her sensitiveness for-
bids consulting a medical gentleman, will find such in-
struction and advice, and also explain many symptoms
which otherwise would occasion anxiety or alarm.
llow many are suffering from obstructions or irregulari-
ties peculiar to the female system, which undermine the
health, the effects of which they are ignorant, and for
which their delicacy forbids seeking medical advice ? IIow
many suffer from prolapsus uteri (falling of the womb),
or iromjluor alb tut (weakness, debility, Ac.) ? How many
are in constant agony for many months preceding confine-
ment? How many have difficult, if not daugurcms deliv-
eries, and slow and uncertain recoveries? Some whose
lives are hazarded during such time, will cach find in its
pages the mean0 of prevention, amelioration and relief.
How mary bitter moments, how qp^ch anguish, might
have been spared to tlie sufferer, to her husband, to her
relatives, by the timely possession of this little volume.
It is impractirable to convey fuily the various subjects
treated of, as they are of a nature strictly intended for
the married, or those contemplating marriage.
Bat no husband, wife or mother are excusable if they
still continue ia ignorance of those physiological laws, by
the knowle'dge of which their own health and happiness,
as also the future well-being of their children, are secured.
