The Books and Burlivame Case.
Washington, July 28—Mr. Burlingame
to-day published a very severe and sarcastic
letter on the course pursued by Mr. Brooks
in reference t -the expected affair of honor
between them. His letter is accompanied
by a statement from Mr Campbell, of Ohio,
the principal point of which is that Mr. Bur-
lingauie asserts that he is willing to go to
South Carolina to meet Mr. Brooks, if it be
necessary.
