WEATHER BULLETIN
For Texas and the SouthweM
Includis Arkan.-as. Louisiana, Okla-
homa and New Mexico
Week August 2^ to September 3.
in Texas and southwest begin*
with a change to cooler weather an !
though at first fairly clear a series
of show-ry rains soon set in lasting
throughout the w ek. In west am!
southwest some clearing, but in gen-
eral nearly all the Texas, Oklahoma,
Arkansas and Louisiana region shouK
have fully normal moisture this week
and in a few sections about gulf c >a-1
and the east Texas country more than
normal moisture. At first of week
quite mild or warm weather, but it:
last few days much cooler.
As is well known the greatest rain-
fall of the .war comes during the
summer time in these regions. Most
usually the peak is reached in early
part of the summer season, but \\
sometimes happens, as is the case this
year, the period of maximum precipi-
tation is retarded until last part of
August or first of September. The
rains are not held back or stored up
anywhere, to be suddenly released at
a later period, but it is more like a
case of slow pressure movement which
does not reach its widest convergence
until some time after the seasonal
normal. Then, when rain does come
on it often lasts a week or more. In
regions north of latitude 4i> frosty
nights arc expected this week.
Order your flowers through the
Elsie Ma> nard Bible Class of the
Methodist Church. Call either Mrs.

Mrs. J. P. Sharp.
