The Drum and Bugle Corps and

PERSONALITY HINTS
Judging from a certain column in
th.- Hi Life last week, some people
(modesty prev> nts the mentioning of
any names in this column) can't take
a "hint" if you cart> to hav.* it that
yau! I thought 1 made clear the fact
that this column was "to help and
not to hurt." Some have done things
to spit,. "Madame Curee" 1 know, be.
eaus,. I have oveheard Conversations!
You a't> not spiting me when you
"slouch" around in your slacks when
you u>.- that language, or when y ui
hav«> bad color combinations. It i«
not I that you should try to spite —
you're hurting yourselves because,
frankly, I don't care how you look!
But, isn't it true that you have begun
to take notice of yours as well as
others, appearance, since this column
originated ?
This week, 1 have some dop*
straight from the boys—th,. mo-t
"looked up to" class of boys in tho
school! Aren't you interested in what
they think of you? There will S,
three or four (if you who will say, "I
don't even care ivbat the boys in this
town think of me! I'm not interested
in them!" But deep down you really
are, and everyone knows it whether
you'll admit it or not! And you your-
self know that the reason you say il
is because they are not intersted in
you - -! (I'm not a boy!) But I got
this dope from them and here's th>*
probable reason they aren't if you

(That's the boy's idea—perhaps some
girl has asked that! i
Takes hours to dress and is always
late.
Is a dawn-patrol maiden and nev r
wants to go home!
They adfl, "Well, if you are, you'r-
the type boys don't like and you'd
better do something about it!"—I'll
add, "Do you always go around tell-
ing everyone you meet, 'So and o
danced with me before he danced wit a
else.' or 'So and so didn't,
dance with anyone else but me all
night!' " (Perhaps the reason is thai
no one else wanted to dance with
him!)
Do you alwa,y* go around telling
everyone everything that happened
on a date the night before? For in-
stance, h<>w much lipstick was smear-
ed on him - . how he kissed you when
you didn't want him to - - his tecn-
nique, etc ? Tut! Tut! Nobody - -wall
maybe some body, but everybody is
not interested in your personal af-
fairs!
MADAMK CCRKK.
JOKES
"Well, Jackie, how do you like your
new sister?"
"Oh, she's all right, but there are
lots of things wa* needed worse."
Two ladies were sitting at an o|>cn
window One was listening to a
church choir practicing across tho
way. The other was listening to the
nois.- of the crickets.
The first one said, "How loudly
they sing tonight!"
And the other one said, "Yes, and
they tell me they do it with their
hind I. gs."
