Rubber Footwear
OPA will permit some ration-free
sales of rubber footwear by retailers
and jobbers who have excess and
slow-moving stocks that otherwise
might be wasted through deteriora-
I tion. Retailers and jobbers desiring
! permission for such sales must ap-
j ply in writing to OPA district of-
fices. A minimum of 15 days will
be required between filing of appli-
cation and granting of "non-rationed"
stickers, which identify the released
footwear.

ning was the weird mysteries of a
magician—Peter Gross, who kept the
crowd baffled with his clever tricks. ,
Approximately 100 soldiers at- i
tended a very enthusiastic sing-song,
Sunday afternoon in the recreation1
hall. Pete Martin played the piano
and Sgt. Durfy led the songs.
You should have seen Chris and'
Hart at the Club Sunday morning—
they came into play Badminton, hut
the game turned out to be "Killing
the Rat" instead.

The Bastrop USO Club will this
weekend join in the national cele-
bration of the third anniversary of
USO with a series of local activities.!

TO: HELEN JOHNSON GREETING:
You are commanded to appear and
answer the Plaintiff's petition at or
before 10 o'clock A. M. of the first
Monday after the expiration of 42
days from the date of issuance of
this Citation, the same being Mon-
day, the 28th day of February, A. I).,
1944, at or before 10 o'clock A. M.,
before the Honorable District Court
of Bastrop County, at the Court
House in Bastrop, Texas.
Said Plaintiff's petition was filed
on the 12th day of January, 1944.
The file number of said suit being
No. 10.48:,.
The names of the parties in said
suit are:
Withrow Johnson, Plaintiff
and
Helen Johnson. Defendant
The nature of said suit being sub
stantially as follows, to.wit:
Plaintiff alleges that he is a bona
fide resident of Bastrop County, Te-
xas, and has been a resident of said
State for more than twelve months
and of said County for more than
six months immediately prior to the
filing of this petition. That on or
about the 1st day of October, 1926,
Plaintiff wa.- lawfully married to De-
fendant and lived with her as his
wife until about the 1st day of April,
19'!",, on which date Defendant volun-
tarily, without cause, abandoned the
bed and board of Plaintiff, with the
intention of permanent abandonment,
stating that she never intended to
return, and since that time, Plaintiff
and Defendant have not lived toge-
ther as husband and wife, a period
of more than three year-. Plaintiff
alleges that he treated the Defen-
dant properly while married to her
and her abandonment was utterly
without cause. That Plaintiff and
Defendant have no children and no
property. That the residence of De-
fendant is unknown to him and he
has filed an affidavit to that effect
in this cause, and prays for service
of process by publication, as required
by law.
Plaintiff prays that the Defen lant
be cited as required by law, and that
on final hearing he be granted a de-
cree of absolute divorce from Defend-
ant, for costs of suit and general
relief.
Issued this, the 12t.h dav of Jan-
uary, A. I). 1944.

said Court, at office in Bastrop, Te-
xas, this, the 12th day of January
