Cedar Creek, November 12.—
Ronald and Terry Hill are stay-
ing for a short while in the home
of their grandpare- ts, Mr. and
Mr-. O. F. Wamel while their
mother, Mrs. Evelyn Hill, is Rev-
ting established after being trans-
ferred from Camp Swift to Camp
Hood.
Mr. and Mrs. B. Ross of Aus-
tin and son, Charles Ross of the
U. S. Navy wore recent visitors
in Cedar Creek.
Mrs. H. C. Smith was a busi-
ness visitor in Austin this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Morton of
Bastrop spent Sunday in the S.

ROPING CLUB
HAS BARBECUE
The Cedar Creek Roping Club
has disbanded recently for the
winter.
On Saturday evening a barbe-
cue was given with the commun-
ity being invited.
It was well attended.

CIKCLE MEETS
Mrs. Alex Waugh was hostess
to the ladies reading circle Novem-
ber 8. Mrs. John Allen, president,
presided over the business ses-
sion and Mrs. Tignal Jones with
^the help of Mrs. Bonnie Grimes,
E. A. Bamhill, Maude Herndon
and Sam Higgins gave an inter-
esting program on Palestine.

The Baptist Fidelis Matrons
Sunday School Class held its
monthly business and social,
Thursday, November 7th, in the
church basement.
The meeting opened with song
and a prayer.
The Devotional was brought by
Mrs. Fred Dunbar taken from the
book "Life of A Young Girl."
It was the life of Mrss Frances
Havergal, who composed the beau-
tiful hynn, "Take My Life and
Let It Be."
After a short business session
the cla'ss adjourned. Lovely re-

WSCS MEETS WITH
MRS. SCHUYLER
Circle Two of the Woman's So-
ciety of Christian Service met
November first in the home of
Mrs. Henry Schuyler.
The meeting was called to or-
der by the chairman, Mrs. John
Allen. For the devotional, Mrs.
Allen chose the scripture "What
Jo ye more than others?"
During the business session the
following officers were elected:
chairman, Mrs. John Allen; vire-
chairman, Mrs. E. R. Barnhill;
secretary, Mrs. F. W. Denison;
treasurer, Mrs. J. L. Goode; study
leader, Mrs. W. E. Maynard; tele-
phone committee, Mrs. Jack Clai-
borne; reporter, Mrs. Miller.
Mrs. Alex Waugh was program
leader. The subject was "World
Missions." In her discussion, Mrs.
Waugh emphasized the fact that
by working together we can rend-
er tfreat services to our fellowmen
in the name of Christ, wherever
we find them in need. Assisting
on the program were Mrs. Price,
who discussed "Agricultural Mi-
grant?," Mrs. Perkins, who spoke
of "The Work of the Church irj
India", and Mrs. Barnhill, who
talked about the importance of
supplying the under privileged
classes with appropriate Christian
literature.
The hostess served refreshments
to twelve members.
The next meeting will be a
Crtristmas party in the home of
Mrs. Goode December 6th.

Bank, located at Paige, Texas, the
proposition was duly submitted to
close the business of the corpora-
tion pursuant to A storkholders
consent agreement, and that at
said meeting the following resolu-
tion was adopted to-wit:
"WHEREAS, the directors of
the Guaranty State Hank, of
Paltre, Texas, have been called
and are now in meeting assembled
to consider the liquidation of this
bank; now, therefore, be it
"RESOLVED, that the business
of this bank be closed as of close

that all depofritors and all credit-
ors of every nature, be paid in

positors and creditors, and dis-
charging all remaining liabilities

PRESENTED IN KTBC WEEKLY PROGRAM
The Austin Symphony Orches-
tra, which opened its new season
Friday evening, November 8th,
will be presented in a new series
of weekly programs over radio
station KTBC beginning Thurs-
day night, November 14th at ! :
45 PM. Featuring an expanded or-
ganization under the direction of
Hendrik J. Buytenororp, the Sym-
phony thrilled a lar^e audience
at Hog„ auditorium in its season
debut.
Presented as a public service
by KTBC, the Symphony Program*
are expected to stimulate the
growing interest that Central Tex-
ans are demonstrating in the Aus-
tin orchestra. Augmented this sea
son by professional talent not
previously available to the group
the regular Thursday evening
broadcasts of the orchestra will
provide the public with an oppor-
tunity to hear the world's great
music.
