Associateion will be held at Ban-
dara July 21st and 22nd. J. M
Jones Sheep Specialist at Texas
Agricultural Experiment Station
will judge entries on the first day.
A private treaty sale will be held
on the second day. Demand for
Delaine rams is expected to bo
better than it has in several years,
because of the recent increase
in the price of wool.

visitors in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Lehmann and daugh-
ter, Ada, last week were Mr. and
Mrs. Melbern Frerich and baby,
Mr. Lee Carson,Mr. Oscar (Pete)
Fisher, Mr. John Hefner and Ad-
olph Wilhelm.
•Mr. Lee Carson visited T. M. Rice
one day last week.
Little Allen Wilson Osborn was
on the sick list.
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Moncure and
Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Morgan spent
their vacation with Mr. and Mrs.
John R. Morgan and family.
Albert Friske visited Woodroe
Osborn last Saturday.
Mildred Ann Goertz spent Sat-
urday night with Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Wilhelm and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Goertz of
Austin visited Mr. Chas Lehmann
and daughter Saturday.
Jimmie Hoffman was a business
visitor at the Albert Lehmann
home Friday evening.
Rev. Clalude Faust and Mon-
roe Will |!m were in Corpus Christi
last week.
Woodroe Wilhelm spent a week
in San Antonio.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Goertz went
to San Antonio to visit their
daughter, Mrs. Joe Shumacher,
and Mr. Shumacher, who have re-
cently become the parents of a
baby girl.
Virginia Lehmann is visiting Mr.
and Mrs. Lee Roy Lehmann of
Corpus Christi.
Albert Lehmann and daughter
were in Bastrop Wednesday.

BIRTHDAY
M iss Ada R. Lehmann cele-
brated her 30th birthday Aug'ist
1, at her parents home near Rock-
ne. She received many lovely and
useful gifts.
Two birthday cakes, one con-
taining cocoanut and the othei
"Happy Birthday" and cookies and
punch were served to the guests.
Those attending were, Mr. Chas.
Lehmann and daughter, Anna,
Mrs. Mary Wright and sons, Joseph
and Charles, Miss Dora Goertz,
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wilhelm and
children, Anna Rose, Rachel, Clare
Bell, Flora Nell and Glen Deen,
Mr. and Mrs. Zeno Lehmann and
daughters, Irene and Alinda, Mr.
and Mrs. Willie Henzon and sons,
Aron and Jerome. Several more
were invited but couldn't attend.
She was wished many, many happy
birthdays.

Aaron Henzon is glad to be back
home after spending several weeks
in the John Sealy Hospital at
Galveston.
Ray Hoffman, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Hoffman has been in
the hospital at Bastrop under ob-
servation for several days.
Mrs. Augusta Friske was taken
to the Brackenridge Hospital in
Austin, his past week. Mrs. Friske
is suffering from a painful injury
in her back, which she sustained
in a fall several months ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shumacher of
San Antonio are the proud parents
of a baby girl, born July 20th. '
She has been named Julian. Mrs. 1
Shumacher was formerly Miss
Leona Goertz of Rockne.

are the parents of twin girls born
July 37th. They have been named,
Mary Ellen and Maria Elaine. Mrs. j
Moore will be rmembered as the

children visited awhile with Mr.
and Mrs. Nolan Robinson and baby
son, Friday afternoon. They also
made a brief visit with Mr. and
Mrs. Ezra Farmer and Mrs. Hillv
Griffith.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Baxter and
son, Tommie, of Fort Worth ar-
rived Friday afternoon to spend
a week with Miss Wills and Or-
land Green.

visited friends and relatives dur-
ing the past week. Richard has
returned to Kingsville, while Anna
and Barbara are staying for an
extended visit with Mr. nd Mrs.
Jack Wolf.
WSCS MEETS WITH
MRS. WAMEL
Mrs. O. P. Wamel was hostess
for the regular monthly business
meeting and program of the Wo-
man's Society of Christian Ser-
vice.
Mrs. Dewey Turner, president
presided during the business meet-
ing, which was opened by group
singing and Mrs. Rosa Turner led
in prayer.
Plans were made for the society
to serve food at the Rodeo Satur-
day night.
Mrs. Sammie Turner, leader of
program presented Mrs. Floyd
Mart in and Mrs. l^ee Alexander,
who spoke on Hume Missions and
The Tale of Two Cities.
A covered dish luncheon was
enjoyed at the noon hour.

Farmers in this part of the coun-
try have been very busy harvest-
ing their feed crops. Cane has
been cut and put in shocks, and
most of the small grain has been
stored. Some have row bound their
feed and nearly every one is look-
ing forward to a good rain to help
the cotton crop. Many farmers'
tanks are low on stock water.
We were very happy to have
with us Sister Monica and Sister
Thecla of St. Scholasticas Convent
in San Antonio. They have return-
ed after a weeks visit with Mr. and
Mrs. Pius Goertz and family. Sister
Thecla graduated from Bastrop
High School, and will be remem-
bered by her many friends and
classmates as the former Miss
Nell Rose Goertz, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Pius Goertz.
Rev. Alois Goertz was also hack
home for a few days just recently.
Father Goertz has been appointed
assiatant pastor at St Michael'*
Parish in Weimar. He is the son
