roujch one around the newspa-
per office what with politicians
and elections a/nl being late, ami
one thing and another.
We had just finished watching
thi- paper Ik iiik put to bed late
1hursday afternoon, and had gone
hack to the wash room to clean up
for a bite of supper before set
<li#ig hack t<. the grind of run
ning. folding, -tamping and tie
ing out.
Momentarily at peace with the
world, we stepped out of the wash
room into the big pres.* room,
•till vigorously applying a towel
to our hands and arms. At lea-t
we were, until we were stopped
dead in our tracks by a strange
sight wi the middle of the press
room floor.
Ah, well, we sighed, we had
figured it would come sooner or
later and so what ? We would
just he endowed with a Harvey-
like creature that would stay
constantly at our elbow, and that
nobody could «ee but us- - -
Horror*! It was still there!
Blinking it* pink eyes and wig-
gling its pink a#id white earn'
Oh, no! Surely it couldn't be'
Not a white bunny i#i the middle,
of the press room floor.
We emitted a screech and flew
around to the other back door,
imploring our better half please
to look outside arid .we if he saw
anything!
With a -mug little grin tha'
said, "Uh huh! Just what I ex
peoted would hapj en to you soon-
er or later!" he peered out the
back door and glory be, he saw-
it. too!
With a gasp of relief that we
were not about to i e haunted by
Harvey a lea t. not for the tim.
being, m wet;', outside, and to <«ur
amaxernent. the ahite bunny hop-
ped boldly <ut of the building
and ri ht into our arms! A
tamer, nicer, prettier bunny we
have nevej .-en Fearful that
