What a way
to earn extra pay!

Your interest-earning U. S. Savings Bonds
never take a day off
Undo month the newspaper you'll find a big. relaxed
grin reflecting dreams of a new home ... or possibly
the happy retirement years in the future. For behind
the smile is a pretty smart fellow who gets closer to
his goals even as he dn'ams about them, thanks to
U.S. Savings Bonds. Every Bond he owns is earning
extra money for him every minute of every day. Bonds
earn an average 3% interest, compounded semiannu-
ally. if held to maturity—and go on earning it for as
long as 19 years and 8 month*.
You can't find a surer way to save than by investing
in U.S. Savings Bonds on the Payroll Savings Plan.
Just tell the pay office whore you work how much you
want to save each week. It puts that amount aside for
you. When enough money accumulates, it buys and
turns over to you a Series E Bond. Why not sign up
at your pay office today?
// you want your interest as current income, ask
your banker about Series II Bonds which pay
interest semiannually by Treasury check.
