ing prayer group.
Mrs. Dewey Turner was lead
er and used as her devotional,
Prayer. The meeting opened with
the group singing "Take Time to
Be Iioly" followed by "The
Beautiful Garden of Prayer"
and at the clo.-e "An Evening
Prayer."

WSCS Entertained With
Christmas Party
Mrs. 0. F. Wamel entertained
members of the Woman's So-
ciety of Christian Service of the
Cedar Creek Methodist Church
with a Christmas party at her
home on Thursday, Dec. 22.
Mrs. S. T. Simmons was leader
of r. brief Christmas program
and devotional. She was assisted
by Mrs. Ottis Holmes, who read
a beautiful Christmas Story, af-
ter which the Sunshine gifts
were exchanged from beneath
the Christmas tree that graced
the living room.
Refreshments of coffee, tea,
cake, cookies and sandwiches
were served. The home was
beautifully decorated through-
out in keeping with the Christ-
mas season.
Those present were Mrs. Andy
Alexander, Mrs. Mac Alexander,
Mrs. Lee Alexander, Mrs. Char-
les Diltz, of Smithville, also Mrs.
Ottis Holmes, Mrs. Zula Ellis,
Mrs. R. L. Davis, Mrs. Robert
Martin, Mrs. S, T. Simmons, Mrs.
Dewey Turner, Mrs. T. C. Watts,
Mrs. O. F. Wamel and two visi-

at the annual high school foot
ball banquet held on Thursday
night, December 22, at 7 o'clock
at the Bastrop State Park Re-
fectory.

J. Gordon B'ryson, who intro-
duced Coach M. M. (Pap) Per-
kins and Assistant Coach, Larry
Turner, Sup't. P. J. Dodson, and
