lar this year by learning to
tailor their own coats and suits.

merce, January 26. The women
studied pattern design, selection
of woolen materials and find-
ings, how to shrink woolen ma-
terials and good tailoring eq-
uipment.
During the next few weeks
these women will be usin« the
information obtained in the pre
tailoring class in preparation for
the tailoring school which will
be taught by the agent in a
series of all day classes held in
the American Legion Hall be
ginning February 20. Kach wo-
man attending will make a wool-
en coat or suit and will teach
tailoring to all the women in
their respective clubs who are
interested.
A group of women from the
String Prairie Community in-
vited the agent out to a meet-
ing to explain Home Demon-
stration work to them and to
give the demonstrations on
"Planning the Living Room" and
"Special Sewing Hints" which
•■he had given to the Home
Demonstration Club this month.
At the close of the meeting the
women voted to organize a Home
Demonstration Club. Officers and
charter members are as follows:
president, Mrs. Henry Rabel;
vice-president, Mrs. Martha Ra
bel; secrtary, Mrs. Annie Fre-
nch; recreation, Miss Nora Till;
other members are Mrs. Emma
Fiebrich, Mrs. Augusta Rabel,
Miss Mary Till and Mrs. Anna
Grohman.
A novel laundry bag for ehild-
rens clothes can be made from
an outgrown drawstring nightie.
Draw the strings tight at the
bottom of the sleeves and the
body of the nightgown. It makes
a handy three-part laundry bag
for a growing up baby. Socks,
booties, bibs, and other small
items that ne?d sudsing can be
slipped into the >•«-, ves, while
sweaters, shirts, dres-i*. and o-
ther larger pieces can be put in-
to the body of the gown through
the neck opening.

Kastrqp Cub Scouts of Pack
1K7 met on Tuesday, January
24. at 7 p. m. for the monthly
pack meeting. The subject for
the month has been a study of
Pirates.
E. M. Christie, Cubmaster, ex-
plained the Pirate theme, which
stresses the "get up and go
spirit" of the old time pirates.
All boys enjoy these stories and
the tales of buried treasures.
Handwork was on exhibit by
the various dens, and the boys
showed their scrapbooks and col
lections which they were work-
ing on. Those present from Den
1 were Mrs. Dan Lloyd, Louis
Lloyd, Ronnie Wilkins, Ricky
Simpson, Mrs. N. R. Simpson,
William and Carl Simpson.
From Den 2 were Mr. and
Mrs. Bob Roberts, Meade Rob
erts, Jimmie Ireland, Murray
Christie, Donnie Long, Geary
Townsend, Tom Townsend, Tom-
my Townsend and Adieu Long.
The boys presented a -kit on
"Bicycle Safety", told about
trips to the country, demonstrat-
ed tricks with straws, showed
model boats, scrapbooks, and
Murray told how he made a
banjo.

The boys were dressed in cos-
tumes representing Englishmen
and Pirates and staged an en
counter between the groups.
They had made the pirate guns
and swords. Their handwork ex- j

and miniature pirate sailboats
with appropriate names on each, 1
and games.
