January 12th
Mr. and Mrs. Earl L. Morris
of Houston are announcing the
engagement of their daughter,
May, to Mr. Boyd Elton Walt-
man of Lufkin. The wedding
will take place at the Second
Raptist Church in Houston on
January 12.
i Mr. and Mrs. Morris are for-
mer residents of Bastrop, mov-
ing in 1949 to Houston to make
their home. They live at 1112
Colquitt in Houston.
Mr. Waitman is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Boyd K. Waitman
of 712 Everett, Lufkin.
BROWNIE'S
Members of the Brownie Scouts
held a regular meeting on Tues-
day of last week at the primary
school.
The Brownies enjoyed a visit
to the B & F Sawmill, where
they watched the process of logs
being sawed into lumber. On
their return to school they stop-
ped at the Drive 'N Grocery,
where they spent their dues for
cold drinks. The group returned
to the school and the meeting
adjourned with the pledge of al-
legiance to the flag and the
Brownie pledge.
Mothers present were Mrs.
Milburn Frerich and Mrs. Vernon
Smith.
