Rock died unexpectedly at. the
' local hospital late Monday af-
ternoon.
Funeral .-erviees were held at
p. in. Wednesday at. his re.si
ience in Red Rock. Graveside
service.- were conducted at the
new Red Rock Cemetery with
the Rev. Iiavis of San Antonio
officiating Marrs Funeral Home
of Smithville was in charge.
Survivors include five sons.

both of Red Rock; Gussie Voigt,
I.ock hart; Vallon Voi^t, Elgin;
William Voiift. Oklahoma City; \
two daughters. Mrs. Irene Hemp-

Funeral services were held at
2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon
■ from the First Methodist Church
j for James Clinton Orgain, 7ti,
who passed away in F.I Paso
on Sunday afternoon, June 9,
j at 5:.'lft o'clock.
The Rev. Fred P. Bishop, pas-
tor of the First Methodist
j Church, conducted the services,
and burial was in Fairview Ce-
metery. Pall bearers were Joe
T Haslet, Will Rogers, Dr. J.
Gordon Bryson, Earl Denman,
j Sam Higgins, Fred G. Haynie,
Kieber Trigg. Ear1 Erhard.
Surviving him are one daugh-
ter, Mr>. X' J. Neugebauer of
El Paso; two sisters. Mrs. Dru
Ransome and Mrs. Kate Mc
! Cullough of Dallas; one bro
; ther, XX'ill E Orgain of Beau
inon!. and a grandson, Joe Clin-
ton Neugebauer
Clinton Orgain. son of Capt.
and Mrs. B I) Orgain, was born
in Bastrop on March S, 1SK1.
He was reared here and in June,
PJ11. he wib married to Bessie
Pearcy, who preceded him in
death on June 1,'i, 1 They
made their home in El Paso for
i number of years, where he
was a rancher, prominent in
ivic and business affairs there.
He was district clerk there for
many years, resigning front of-
fice because of ill health on
December 11. l'.'oii. He was a
member of the Methodist ( hurch

Jimmy Ray Lee. son of Mr.

graduate of Bastrop High
School, ha recently been in-
formed that he has been selected
to receive a Student's Memorial
Scholarship of the University of;
Texas Ex-Students Association J
for the school year of PJ57 ">8.
Jimmy also received a scholar
ship certificate awarded by the
Members of the Texas Council
of Church Related Colleges to at-
tend the Institution of his choice
but he plans to enter the Uni- j
versitv of Texas thi> fall.

given honorable mention in i
national art contest for physi
clans' children in which he was

2700 drawings and paintings
from all parts oi the United
States were submitted in tlw
contest.
Sponsored by the Nepera Lab-
oratories of Morris Plains. N
J., the contest required each
entrant to submit his interpre-
tation of the subject, "My
Doctor Daddy and XX'hat He
Does". Dan's entry was a Cray-
ola sketch of his Daddy at th*
bedside of a patient carefully
examining the patient's throat.
The sketch was included in the
!M3 winners exhibited at the con-
vention of the American Medical

seum the first week in June
