Vows were pledged at an altar
if fern trees and white gladiolus
flanked by candelabra. Organ-
ist \\ a - J. Emanuel Tumlinson
of l.ampasa- and soloist was
Mrs. Mary Jane Weaver of role-
man, who sang "The Lord's
Prayer" and "1 Love Thee".
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her brother, Pat Mil-
iican of Bend. She wore u bal-
lerina length sheath dress of
Chantilly lace, with a scoop
neckline, a pleated flared over
skirt of taffeta with a soft bow
at the wrist. The veil of French
illusion was held in place by a
pill-box type headpiece having
seed pearl trim. Her bouquet
was of white stephanotis, cen-
tered with a white orchid on a
white Bible. She wore single
strand of pearls.
Matrcn-of-honor was the
bride's sister, Mrs. George Strau-
hal of Fort Worth, who wore
pink lace o%'er taffeta with chif-
fon trim, designed ballerina-
length. She carried a cascade
pink and white daisies.
Best man to Mr. Callahan was
James Cate of Whitney, and
ushers were James P. Stephen-
son and Jack W. Lacy, both of
Lampasas.
A reception was held in the
Church Annex, where the bride's
table was laid in white organdy
with an arrangement of white
gladiolas. The four-tiered wed-
ding cake was topped with a
miniature bride and bride groom
figurine. Mrs. Jack Spence of
Austin, and Mrs. C. D. Leming
of New Braunfels, sisters of the
bridegroom, served the wedding
cake. Mrs. Tyrus Cox and Mrs.
Bill Sneed, both of Coleman,
were at the punch bowl. Miss
Nell Millican of San Saba, cou-
sin of the bride, and Miss Jean
Sassman of Austin, niece of the
groom, were at the guest regis-
ter. Other members of the house-
party were Miss Martha Owen
of San Saba, cousin of the bride;
Miss Jo Ann Cathey and Mrs.
Cora Lou Daughtery of Cole-
man, Mrs. Bill G. Johnson of
San Saba and Mrs. Jack I^icy
of Lampasas.
The bride, who was graduated
from the San Saba high school
and from tht I niversity of 1<

in the Lnn pasas High School.

The wedding of Miss June
Marie Hoch of Smith v ill v
and Fred Scott, formerly of Bas-
trop. was held in the First ,
Presbyterian Church in Smith-
ville. Jun< 2.
The bridt is the daughter of
Mrs. Martin Hoch and the late
I>r. Hoch, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. George
Scott of Victoria, Texas.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her grandfather, Mr.j
Charles C. Albrecht of LaGrange.
She wore a designer gown of
candlelight bombazine silk and
imported lace. The fitted bodice
featured tiny short sleeves and
a rounded neckline which wa.«
frosted with Belgian lace. Her!
fingertip length veil of silk il
lusion was re-embroidered with !
seed pearls.
The bride's bouquet was fash
ioned of white roses and was
centered with a white orchid.
Mrs. M. B. Maney, aunt of the
bride, was matron of honor, and
the bride's sister. Betty Sue
Hoch, was junior bridesmaid.
Other bridesmaids were Misses
Carolyn McDowell, Sandra Hall
of Brady, and Judy Reader. All
of the bride's attendants were
dressed alike in waltz length
gowns of nile green chiffon i
fashioned with fitted bodice.- ,
fastened in front with tiny cov
ered buttons, and floating pan-
els in the back.
Floyd Bartsch of Bastrop ser-
ved the bridegroom as best man.
His other attendants were his
brother, Dennis Scott of Vic-
toria, junior groomsman; Bobby
Lee of Victoria, Johnnie Mercer
of Bastrop and Gerald Hanna
of Austin. Ushers were Victor
Or>ak of Victoria and Billy
Mike Maney.
The bride graduated from
Smithville High School with the
class of 1957 ami the bridegroom
is a 1956 graduate of Bastrop t
High School. They will makt
their home in Victoria where
Mr. Scott is employed with Lane-
Wells Company.

Youth Organization meeting at
Taylor on Sunday afternoon,
June 9. Roekne Parish ranked

the youth enjoyed a supper and
