Holiday Greetings
The year 195s is fast drawing to a close; and since this
will be my last "Telephone Talk" column for this year. I would
like to take this opportunity to express my thanks and ap-
preciation to all our Hastrop customers for the business you
have given us during the past vear.
We made an extra effort to improve Iwtth local and lotsp
distance service in l!t.">s and we hope the service will he even
better in 1959. Our most important job is to render the best
possible service and to strive constantly to improve that ser-
vice. We are all looking forward to serving our Hastrop cus
turners next year.
Hefore the Holidav Season is upon us. I'd like to wish
everyone a "Merry Christmas" and "Happy New Vear" front
all of us here at the telephone Company.
Family Get-To-Gether
\ir*in as we approach this Holiday Season, plans are be-
ing made to celebrate Christmas with our families and those
who are near and dear to us. Manv families however will be
unable to get together for various reasons. For those who will
be unable to visit with their families in person, I would sug
gost you plan a visit bv long distance. Station to Station calls
ar« economical. Reduced rates apply everv night after fi:00
P. M.. Holidays, and Sundaw Calls go thru twice as fast when
you call by number and are much cheaper.
Due to the expected heavy volume of traffic on Christmas
Fve and Christmas Da>. I would suggest that von place calls
earlv.
Helpful Hints For Husbands
If most of von husbands are like me, you fall into the
same old trap every christmas.
You go out and huy vour wite that special something she
wants, then sit l ack ami relax, happy in the thought that
you're goinis to please her. Suddenly, about a week before the
bi|! day. yon realise all your eggs are in one basket. Mom will
have one nice gift but that's all. Kveryune else, meanwhile
will have sever a I packages under the tree.
If this is about to happen at your house this vear, here *
ail idea.
(Jive Mom a color extension telephone for Christmas. We'll
give you a colorful gift w i apped miniature telephone to put
under the tris' with the other presents, then have the real one
hooked up after Christmas.
Table phones now come in nine pretty colors I'he new wall
phone*, so popular for kitchens, are available in seven colois
I'he cost is $10 plus installation
