Brown 'n serve sausages,
franks, anfl cru.-'.v French bread
add up to a formula fur fine pic-
nic fare The sausages are al-
ready cooked when purchased, so
they heat in the same few min-
utes as the franks The wonderful
pork und beef goodness of the
sausage* is a tasty flavor mate
for the franks, too.
Freshness is a * must" for
table-ready meats. Both franks
and brown 'n serve sausage are
prepared daily using selected
meat cuts and delectable season-
ings,
For tempting sandwich ac-
companiments. make little foil-
wrapped packets of sliced pota-

to cook on the outdoor grill These
"bundles" will be done in about
15 to 20 minutes; the meat will
take only about 5 minutes.
Toas' buttered lengths of
French bread while the frenk.^

bottom half of the loaf arrange
sausages and franks, and top with
other half which has been spread
with barbecue sauce This giant-

individual portions.
Dessert for outdoor meals
should always be kept simple
both for easy transporting and
for easy service on the spoi Fruit
or a loaf cake will make a satisfy-

QUESTION: is it possible to
cut dadoes with a portable elec-
tric saw?
ANSWER: It not only is possi-
ble, It is extremely easy, provided
you set the saw's circular blade
properly before cutting. Loosen
the saw slipper and adjust the
distance from bottom of slipper to
end of saw teeth to the exact dado
depth you desire. Then tighten
the slipper Make a trial cut in
a piece of scrap wood and meas-
ure the depth of the cut to check
on your adjustment Pencil the
outer edges of the dado for de-
sired width and saw along those
outer lines first Then make sev-
eral passes inside and parallel
with those two outer lines. This
will cut out much of the dado
area and the rest can quickly be
routed out with chisel
Drill stand makes portable drill
• versatile home shop tool.
QUESTION: Some of the proj-
ects I have been working on re
quire drilling %-inch holes through
4x4s. I can't seem to drill ac-
ourately in that size wood with
my portable electric drill. 1 can't
afford a drill press right now. Is
there any other solution?
^ANSWER: Have you Investi-
gated getting a drill stand for
your portable electric drill? These
stands convert portable drills to
lever-operated drill presses to
provide fast, accurate bench drill-
ing not only in thick, hard woods
but in steel, plastic and other
materials You also can chuck
sanding disc, grinder, or wire
brush accessories in the drill for
use on the drill stand, too Drill
stands are comparatively inex-
pensive and give you both porta-
ble and stationary features with
your portable electric drill.
