Construction on the new Post
Office building was completed
I early this week, end was accept-
ed by the Post Office Depart-
ment. aftei inspection on Tue.i-

The 4 IxSH foot brick building
i.- owned by VV I. Allbright of
Hastrop and R. L. Guyler of
Lampasa.-.
All new fixtures will be us-
ed in the building and are ar-
riving daily; however, there has
not been an opening date set

G. Haynie and Rev. Walter J.
Cartwright heard reports of
Methodi-t activities last week
in San Antonio. In addition rep-
resentatives of the Bastrop
Church were named to Annual
Conference policy making boards;
Fail L. Corson to the Hoard >f
Education, Dr. S. M. Hardt to
the Board of Pensions and Mr.
'Cartwright to the Board of .Mis-
sion-.

ing word- of Bishop Gerald Ken-

odist Church ended May 7 in
Denver. Colo., after 11 days
and nights of debate, delibera-
tion and legislation.

ture that this General Confer-
ence became fully aware that
we are a world Church," added
Bishop Kennedy, newly-elected
pre.-ident of the council of Bis-
