Absentee \ oting
Explained
The ab-entee voting law« create
the possibility that if next
month's election were extremely
close in Texas, a majority of
the votes cast in Texas might
go to one party while the other
would be declared the winner
and get the state's '11 electoral
vote.-.
Texan- who are in military
servic abroad or in other state?,
and who are otherwise quali-
fied, have the privilege of ca.-t
ing absentee ballots. Civilians
who have qualified to vote arid
who have moved out of the state
likewise retain the right to vote.
