PKKHON'H BKTMKKN 21 AND 60 YKAKM OF AGE
21 AGP- GROUP. Any person who has become 21 years old
since January 1, 1963, or will become 21 an> lime in 1964
needs an Exemption (FREE)
OVER AGE GROUP. Every person living inside a Gty of
10,000 population or greater if born BEFORE January 1,
1903 (they must be 61 years or older). Free Exemption must
lw secured each year. If an over-age person lives outside a
City of 10,000 population, no Exemption Certificate is required
DISABIJOD PERSON. If a person is deaf, dumb or blind, or
permanently disabled or has lost a hand, a foot, or is a
disabled veteran of foreign wars, where such disability is
40 percent or more, a Poll Tax may be secured for $1.00.
NEW RESIDENTS IN STATE. Free Exemption 1st year,
vote after one year in State and 6 months in county.
SOLDIERS OF REGULAR ARMY. Poll Tax ONLY in County
from which they entered the Service.
WIFE OF SOLDIER. Should pay a Poll Tax if otherwise
qualified.
MODE OF PAYING POLL TAX. In person or by U.S. Mail.
NEW LAW FOR 1964. The Husband or Wife, Father, Mother,
Son or Daughter may pay the tax for the taxpayer in either
of the modes authorized, and may sign for the taxpayer
when payment is by mail, and may receive the Poll Tax
receipt issued to the taxpayer.
NOTE: All application* MIST BE MAILED to the Tax
Colkt'lor ami UK IN HIS POSSESSION by midnight,
January 3!at.
