TO BE ORDAINED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BASTROP, TEXAS;
SECTION 1. The City of Bas-
trop. Bastrop County, Texas, here-
in called "Grantor", does hereby
grant unto United Gas Corpora-
tion, its successors and assigns,
herein called "Grantee' the
right, privilege, and franchise to
construct, lay. maintain, operate,
(isc. extend, remove, replace and
repair in, under, over, across,
and along any and all of the pre-
sent and future streets, avenues,
parkways, squares, alleys, tho-
roughfares. roads, highways, side-
walks, viaducts, bridges, streams,
public grounds, public properties,
and other public places of Gran-
tor. and in all tracts, territories,
and areas hereafter annexed to
or acquired by and placed with-
in the corporate boundaries of
Grantor, a system of pipes, pipe
lines, gas mains, laterals, con-
duits, feeders, regulators, meters,
fixtures, connections, and attach-
ments and other desirable instru-
mentalities and appurtenances
; necessary or proper, for the pur-
pose of transporting, distributing,
[supplying and selling gas (natu-
i nil and-or artificial and-or mixed)
for heating, lighting, power and
for any other purposes for which
; Has may now or hereafter be us-
j ed. in and to said Grantor and its
; inhabitants or any other person or
persons within or without the cor-
porate boundaries of Grantor
SECTION 2. Grantee's proper-
ty shall be so constructed and
maintained as not to interfere un-
reasonably with traffic over the
public thoroughfares of Grantor
and the same shall be laid in ac-
cordance with the lines and
' grades established by Grantor.

for the Houston Chronicle One
Dollar Symphony Concerts, now
| a tradition 111 Houston music.
This year the concerts will lie on
Saturday, October 31, 1!#>l, Sat-
urday, January 23 and Saturday.
March 20. 1965.
Arthur Fiedler, conductor of the
j Boston I'ops for 35 years and a
Columbia Mastcrworks recording
artist, will lead the 90-man Hous-
ton Symphoin Orchestra on Octo-
ber 31. Guest soloist will lie Mon-
ti' Hill Davis, a native Texan who
has won wide acclaim as a talent-
ed and charming pianist.
British-born Skitch Henderson,
popular tv personality and talent-
ed musician and conductor, will
be the guest conductor for the se-
cond concert on January 23.
On March 20, the 1964-65 season
will close with Sir John Barbirolli
conducting the world-famous
Houston Symphony Orchestra in
the grand finale program of the
series.

SECTION 3. Grantee at its own
expense shall run or extend not
more than two hundred <200> feet
of main, not to exceed a maxi-
mum diameter of two <2i inches,
together with reasonable service
lines, to serve any person, firm,
association, individual, or corpo-
ration applying for or demanding
gas service and-or additional gas
or gas service. Grantee" shall not
be required to run or extend any
main, service line or other part
of its distribution system a dis-
tance greater than that specified
| in the preceding sentence to any
. person, firm, association, indivi-
| dual, or corporation applying for
; or demanding gas or gas service
and-or ad e.tional gas or gas ser-
vice unless the probable expected
1 use of such gas or gas service by
such person, firm, association,
individual or corporation will pro-
vide to Grantee a reasonable and
compensatory return or income

| main, service line or other equip-

plication or demand

a convenience to it. relocate any

whom gas is supplied by Grantee,
