To Have Meeting
July 15 at Bank
The Bastrop Memorial Hospital
Auxiliary Corps will meet in the
Civic Room of the First National
Bank on Monday. July la, at .'twill
p. m, All members are urged to
attend this very im|sirtanl meet-
ing. Chairmen of committees will
lx' asked lo report on progress
made in their areas of work.
Members will then be able lo make
further plans toward working in
the new hospital.
The Auxiliary is still accepting
volunteers from the women of the
entire area lo he served hy Ihe
hospital The only requirement is
that a woman be at least eighteen
years of age If you are Interested
in Joining, attend the meeting
Mrs James Sharp, president of
the Auxiliary, states that this vol-
untary si i-vice organization is not
in any way involved with nursing
care or nurse's aides duties. It
does Involve such areas of service
a- running a coffee shop for visi-
tors, delivering mail, gifts or flow-
ers to patients, handling T V. rent-
als and library carts for patients
and many other services that
nurses and aides do not have time
to perform. All services this or-
ganization renders in the hospital
will be non-mcdical. The main
purpose of the Bastrop Memorial
Hospital Corps Is to render cheer-
ful assistance to patients, hospital
stall and visitors, helping to make
a patient's stay as pleasant as
possible
All women who wish to serve
are urged lo join this organization

lltzellc for a week's vacation start-

the big camp near Midlothian over
a four week period this summer,"

Mrs. Smith said all organized
| activities arc supervised by coach-
i e.s and counselors. The campers
are housed in brick redwood cabins

The annual Ridgeway Reunion

of the First Baptist Church ot
Bastrop Texas, on Sunday morn
ing, July 14, al Ihe eleven o'clock
worship hour.
Rev. Young comes to Bastrop
from Stockdale, Texas, where lie
has served as pastor of Ihe First
Baptist Oiurch lor the past three
ami one-half years. Previous lo
his tenure- there, lie held pastorates
in Henderson, Longview, and Wei-
mar.
Being a native of Henderson.
Texas, lie received his PA degree
from Fast Texas Baptist College
in Marshall, Texas, and did grad-
uate work on his Master's Degree
at Southwest Texas State College

various phases of denominational

and in Ihe South Central Texas
Baptist Area.
He is married to the former Jane

Grange held on Monday night of
this week for the reorganization of
CRIDA. Cecil lying. A. A. Sanders,
Jim Sharp and Bill Maynard re-
presented Bastrop at this meeting.
Kiglil of the ten counties were
represented Including the follow-
ing towns: Iji Grange, Columhus,
Bastrop, Kingsleml. Bay City,
Wharton, El Campo, and Flatonia.
A Dutch Treat dinner was en-
joyed hy all and plans were dis-
cussed to reorganize CRIDA. Son-
ny Stolz was elected temporary
chairman. Another meeting is
planned in August with three pro-
jects in mind. Highway 71. Bcau-
tifieation, and water pollution on
the Colorado River.
