Since late August when the at-
tack aircraft carrier Hancock went
to war in Vietnam for the fourth
time since earlj 1!1Q5. thrsc words
echo over the flitchi deck many
time* each day,
And when they are heard the
25-year old carrier prepares for :i
strike against Hie enemy by swing-
ing into the wind while jet planes,
loaded with the ordance of war,
start their engines.

But there arc an additional 2,000
men aboard the Hancock who pro

Since frozen turkey, like other
meat. is highly perishable when
thawed, you'll want to keep these
tips in mind when buying turkey:
. Store frozen turkey in freezer
at 0 degrees F or below
- Cook frozen, stuffed turkey
without thawing.
- Thaw whole, unstuffed turkey
in original wrapper in refrigerator
(35 to 4(1 degrees F.) before cook-
ing Allow 2 to 3 <lays to thaw

weighing less than 1S pounds
Or turkey may be partically
thawed in original wrap|>er in the
refrigerator and then placed un-
der cold running water until com-
pletely thawed. Do not thaw at

ficiently thawed, remove giblets
and neck Irom cavity. Clean tur-
key as necessary and wash tho-
roughly inside ami out in cold run-
ning water Drain. Wash giblets and
neck thoroughly.

used promptly after thawing, co-
ver loosely with waxed paper and
refrigerate Do not freeze.
Completely cook turkey at one

Bake stuffing separately for easy
preparation, serving and storage.
After the meal, remove turkey

ease, bake stuffing separately in
an oven-lo-lable dish.
II cups fresh cranlierrics (1 1-2
pound*)
1 1-2 cups suger
I 1-2 cups butler or margarine,
melted
1 I 2 quails small bread cubes
2 I-I enp raisins
I 12 tablespoon salt
I teaspoon cinnamon
Orated rind of 3 lemons
1 to 1 1-2 cups broth or water
Chop cranberries and blend in
sugar Blend butler and bread culie
Combine two nuxUrcs with re-
maining ingredients Mix well.
Note: 2 1-4 cans of wliolc cran-
berry sauce and 1-2 cup sugar may
be substituted for fresh cranberries
and I 1-2 cups sugar Break up
cranberry sauce with fork, add su-
gar anil proceed as above.
