COMPIJMNTS, COMPLAINTS
. . COMPLAINTS . are what we
hoar about the eliargo on the Has
trop Stall- Park (late by the few
people who are going there. A
couple from Kilgoiv stated that
they had visited Bant nop State Park
many, many times, but that this
would bo the bust Ume. A gentle-
man from Florida vv.ls very un-
l.apjn alKHlt having to pay lo enter
the stale park gate plus a camping
fee. These are just two of the
many complaints reaching us. Ot-
hers are just staying out of the
park. Elderly people are being
driven thru gh the Smithvlllo park
rather than pay to lido the road
in the Bastmp Park Complaining
to the Chamber of Commerce will
not do any good, write to the people
wl o are responsible and who can
have something done about it. Your
Senator and Representative, lias
trop is not the only one complaining
but we arc the ones who are being
hurt by the lack of attendance in-
to our park. Yes, Bastrop Stale
here is different from the other
I larks ami should bo treated as
such.
As the situation is now, our sum-
mer swimming program will go
down the drain as many have sla-
ted that they cannot pay to get
their children in the park. Now is
the time for thorn to try to do
something about it
It has conic lo the attention of
the Chamber of Commerce that
residents of Bastrop are complain-
ing about the trespassing on their
private property (lawns) b\ pecan
pickers. Many are lioys and girls
in Bastrop who do not have per-
mission lo pick up pecans under
the privately owned tri es and so.n
have been accompanied by ad Its.
Those people are breaking the law
and could lie arrested and fined.
Anyone wishing to pick up pe-
cans sIkhiUI have permission, as
trespassing is a very serious of-
fense and punishable by law!
Pecan trees are not planted by
Park is an exception. Our situation property owners for the us- of the
public.
