Mrs Schultea has been spending
some lime* in 1-akc Bastrop Acres
this past week, sliil working on
"Petticoat Junction" and is staying
ill her cabin on the lake side in
Lake Bastrop Acres.
From San Antonio, Mr. and Mrs.
O'Brien who own the new Moduler
home in L H.A., s|>enl the weekend
fixing around on the new house.
They bought another lot. Hope to
build on it later.
We enjoyed having the Schull/.'
from Austin out to spend the week-
end in their summer cabin, again.
The II. (I. Charles had friends
from Houston, the Moores who own
properly in L B A. and from Odes-
sa, Mrs. Charles' nephew and wife,
Mr. and Mrs. Johnic Cowan. Mr.
Cowcn has just been released from
the U. S. Army and is on the way
to Houston to make their home.
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Campbell
who live in Houston were out work-
ing on their new home that (hey
started a few weeks ago. Her cou-
sin and wife from Austin are help-
ing to do the work on the house.
We are anxious to have them gel
moved into the happy group of
L B.A. owners.
Mr. Sutton, president of Timely
Corporation Homes, will be in Bas-
trop soon with his Sales Manager,
Mac Stringfellow, to look at l^ike
Bastrop Acres and talk with some
of the people about pulling up some
.of the Moduler homes For more

Mr. llergota is not only good for
: watching the game in the area, he
is also a real fine messenger lx y

phone communications are not in

From Houston. Mr. and Mrs Car-
penter and family were out for
the weekend to get avva;. from the
hustle and bustle of the city. They
are owners of property in Lake
Bastrop Acres.
The Elbert Moors from Houston
brought their plans for a house to
check out to see if they will work
on the existing slab on their lot.
Looks like we will have houses
popping up all around soon.
Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Barllell
were over to bring eggs from her
mother's egg farm for all the peo-
ple who enjoy them so much. Her
mother is in the Smithville area.
We know all of the owners of
heavy machinery will lie glad to
know that Mr. Bartlclt has gone
into business for himself, repairing
the different kinds of machines.

Alex Suess and friends from Iji
Grange and Mr. and Mrs. Gillbcrt
Kck were out in Lake Bastrop
Acres Sunday afternoon driving
around for a look see.

Funeral services were held for
Mrs. Scuttle Davis. 118. on Tuesilay.
July 1-1, at 10 a. m. from the
United Methodist Church. Mrs. Da-
vis died at 11: to Sunday morning,
July 12, in the local hospital, when
she developed pneumonia a- the
result of Injuries received in a fall
She bad been ill only about three
weeks.
'Hie Rev J. Troy Hickman, pas-
tor, officiated in the services and
the background of organ music was
played by Mrs. A. N. Edwards,
Burial was in Falrview lYmeterv,
with W. B. Townscnd. R. II Brie
ger, Alton Voigt, M E. Ralx'ns-
burg, Vernon ICskcvv and Lovell
Yoasl as pallbearers. Honorary pall-
bearers named were Dr. R W
Loveless, E F. Pcarcy, Fred (!
Ilaynic, Ix-slie D. Williams, W. S.
Milliugton, H. C. Wilkins, R L.
DcUiaeh and W. T. McCullough.
She is survived by her daughter,
Mrs. W. J. Rogers, and a number
of nieces and nephews.
The widow of James Harrison
Davis, Mrs. Davis was born in Red
Rock on October l!.r>, 1871 Her par
cuts were Henry E. and Adelaide
Chambliss. She was reared in Bas
imp County, and was a member
of the Methodist Church.
She was an ardent button and
fan collector, and thoroughly en-
joyed showing Ihom to visitors.
Another hobby was handwork. Many
brides have carried handkerchiefs
made by "Miss Scotlie", and many
friends treasure the dainty squares
of linen and handmade lace she
gave them.
During World War II, when the
big USO building was constructed
on the southeast lawn of the court-
house and across the street from
her home, Mrs. Davis spenl many
hours there as hostess, visiting and
helping the men who were stationed
at Camp Swift. Gracious and lovely,
she made it truly a "home away
from home" for them.

altar.
The bride is a graduate of Bas-
trop High School. The gitnim, a
graduate of San Sal>a High Scltool,
is an employee for IBM of Austin.
The bride was attired in a formal
gown of white satin and lace fea-
turing a lace empire waist fash
ioncd Willi long. I>cll sleeves of
lace. The satin skirt extended into
a train. White lace posies adorned
the gown. Her finger tip veil was
attached to a tear drop crown, She
carried two do/en white roses en
(wined with English Ivy. and wore
for her jewelry a pair of gold loop
earrings belonging to her grand-
mother.
Mrs Mildred Rounsley of Smith
Center, Kansas, sister of the bride,
was matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss Ulanah
Maxwell of Austin, sister of the
groom, and Miss Mary Ann Bar-
tsch, and Miss Delia Wilhelm of
Rocknc.
The bridal attendants wore floor
length gowns of pastel colored satin
designed with empire waists, and
short bell sleeves. Their headpieces,
and bouquets of asters matched tin*
color of their gowns. Each wore
while gloves, and a cross and chain,
a gift of the bride and groom.
Misses Robin Wilhelm and
Drive in Lake Bastrop Acres, is
now finished and can be shown,
and can be bought at a very rea-
sonable price, if any one wants a
house ready to go.

Auxiliary
Notes
Members of the Bastrop Hospital
Auxiliary will be happy to have
Dr. and Mrs. Bill J. Marshall and
their family in Bastrop, and are
looking forward to having him on
the medical staff in the hospital.
The Auxiliary is pleased to an-
nounce the installation of ;i brand
new machine which dispenses hot
coffee, soup and hot chocolate for
visitors and hospital personnel.
Since the machine was quite ex
pensive, and the Auxiliary has as-
sumed the responsibility for it, con-
tributions to help with the financ-
ing will be gratefully received.
Volunteer hours of service given
by auxiliary members totaled U>' -
hours for the week of July 10-17.
