Meeting
Notice is hereby given that a
Special meeting of the Stock
holders,of Xe*as Central Railroad
Company has been called by the
board of chrectors of said com-
pany to be held at the Geneal
office of the Company, in the
city of Waco, Texas, on Thursday
the 22nd of September, 1910" at
12 o'clock noon, for the follow-
ing purposes:
(a) to consent to, approve and
authorize the creation and issue
of mortgage gold bonds of the
Company to be limited to a prin-
ciple amount, at any one time
outstanding, of not exceeding
$20,000,000, such bonds to bear
interest from September 1, 1910
at such rate or rates, not ex-
ceeding six per cent per annum
as said board may, from time to
time, detirmine, to mature at
such date, to be issuable for
such lawful purposes and in such
denominations as such Board
may decirmine, such bonds to be
payable, both principal and in-
terest, at the office or agency of
said company in the city of New
York in gold coin of the United
States of-America, of or equal to
the present standard of weight
and fineness and without
d e d u c t io n for any tax,
assessment or governmental
charge, which said Company
may be required to pay thereon
or to deduct or to retain there-
from under any present or future
law of the United States or any-
state; county, municipality or
other tax authority therein:
(b) to consent to approve and
"authorize the execution and de-
livery, to secure such bonds, of
a mortgage and deed of trust on
and of the railroad, equipment,
franchises and property-owned
by said Company at the date of
dtshe execution and delivery of
such mortgage and deed of trust
or at any other time thereafter
used as a basia-of issue of any of
such bonda or their proceeds:
(c) to approve the form and
terms of such mortgage and deed
of trust, or to authorize said
Board, in its discretion, to de-
termine the forms and terms

praying for an election, to sub-
mit, ^e question to the quali-
fied voters of Crosby county, of
removing the County Seat, from
Emma, its present location, to
Crosbyton, said petition bearing
the required number of signa-
tures of property tax paying
voters of said Crosby county, and
being in every respect in con-
formity with law:
And, whereas, a petition was
presented to "me on August the
tenth nineteen hundred and ten,
in open Commissioners Court of
Crosby county, Texas, for an
election to submit the question
of removing the county seat
from irs present location at
Emma, to Ralls, said^ petition
signatures of the property tax
paying voters of Crosby county
Texas, and being in every re-
spect in conformity with law:

Government Crop Reports.
The Crop Reporting Board of
the Bureau of Statistics of the
United States Department of
agriculture estimates, from the
reports of the correspondents
and agents of the Bureau, as
follows:
The average condition of corn
on August 1st was 79.3, as com-
pared with 85.4, last month, and
on August 1st, 1909, and 82.1,
the average on August 1st for
the past ten years.
Preliminary returns indicate a
winter wheat yield of about 15,8
bushels per acre, or a total of
about 458,294,000 bushels, as
compared with 15,8 and 446,-
366,000 bushels, respectively,
as finally estimated last year.
The average quality of the crop
is 92.6, against 90,3, last year.
The average condition of
spring wheat on August 1st, was
61, as compared with 61.6 last
month, 91.6 on Angust l?t 1009,
and 81.9 the ten years averages on
August 1st.
The average condition of the
oat crop on August 1st was
81.5, as compared with 82.2 last
