work. The air smells of fresh
turned soil.
The attendance at both church
services were good Sunday, to
close the week-end revival which
climaxed a Sunday School study
course. Mr. and Mrs. Garner and
children of Crosbyton and Wynn
Nona McMillan were visitors in
the morning services. Dr. John
Freeman of, Wayland College
was the speaker.
The church is looking forward
. to the celebration of its 40th an-
niversary. The date for the home
coming has been set for June i.
A committee- is working toward
notifying all fojm^t members
and securing speakers for the
day.
The Mt. Blanco Home Demon-
stration Club met Thursday- in
the home of Mrs. Holt Bishop.
Mrs; Harry-Morekei talked about
and gave a demonstration on
proper table setting. Ice cream
in star shaped pastay and a de-
licious fruit punch were served
to Mmes. S. G. Appling, Weldon
MoClure, Brice. Allen,-J. R. Wil-
liams, Bill Hambright. E. !I.
Brown. Harry Morckel, Holt Bish-
op. Lloyd Langiey and two visi-
tors, Mrs. J. H. Bucknan and
Mrs. H. A. Powell, Of Floydada.
The next meeting will be May
8 in the home of Mrs. E. 1 I.-
Brown.

spent Tuesday night in Bridge-
port with their daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Pat Culpepper and chil
to Melissa and spent the night
with Mr. Spurgin's mother, Mrs.
J. J. Spurgin. Other relatives vis-
ited there with them. Thursday
several relatives of Mrs. Spurgin
visited with her in her brother's
home. Mr. and Mrs. V. R. Osbum
in McKinney. The Spurgins re-
turned home Thursday after-
noon.

a Monday supper guest of Mr.
and Mrs. S. G. Appling and Joe.

roast at her home Thursday af-
ternoon for the Jr. Girls class.

Nancy Allen, Ch&rliece Holcomb,
Ruby MdLeeWee, and their
teacher. Mrs. Rudolph McCurdy
and Phillip.

dinner guests in the Brice Allen
home.

The hymn, "Jesus, Still Lead
On", has been chosen as the
the Federated Music Clubs and

Harmony Club in its May meet
ing. The text was written by
Count N. L. von Zinzendorf in
1721 and was translated by Jane
Burthwick In 1853. The tune is
"Thuringia," by Adam Drese.
The noble Nicholaus Ludwig,
Count von Zinzendorf, was born
in Dresden, Germany, May ^ 26.
1700. The great opportunity" of
his life ,came to him when a
band of persecuted Moravians,
led by Christian, David, settled
in his own town of Berthelsdorf.
How Zinzendorf and his Mora-
vians founded: Moravian mis-
sions is one of . the most thrill-
ing stories In all missionary an-
nals. The Moravians made much
of song, as they still do.
Zinzendorf wrote more than
2,000 hymns, all of thefh ex-
pressing his deep devotion. Of
all Zinzendorf^ writings, the
favorite is certainly, the. hymn

Albuquerque, N. Mex., are com-
ing this Week-end. Steve is
