Church and Man—Dr. Jef-
frey K. Hadden, Tulane Uni-
versity professor of sociology
and urban study will speak on
"The Church and Future of
Man" Thursday, September. 24,
in the Chapel, at 7:30 for free.
Hadden has clone research for
numerous educational, religious
and community organizations,
and has published several works
concerning the urban situation.
Graduate students—The GSA
is looking for members to serve
as representatives on the fol-
lowing university committees:
Campus Safety, Religious Ac-
tivities, Student Health, Un-
dergraduate Teaching, Library
and the Graduate Council.
Three departments still lack
representatives to the GSA:
biology, economics and me-
chanical engineering. Also, an-
other graduate .student is need-
ed on the Appeals Court. Hec-

The Great Sundance's first and fore-
most fan, his dear mother, arrives
in the bus station, to be greeted
by her sweet Sunny. She brings his
pink pajamas and dog. without which
he cannot sleep.

Club "Cocktail" Party.
7:30pm. Rice Stadium. Rice opens
the '70 campaign on Monsanto's As-
troturf against the power of the
Southern Conference, VMI. The
sparkling Keydets (they have stunn-
ing yellow and red uniforms) broke
tradition by defeating Furraan in
the battle for the S.C. cellar. (The
rivalry wiiis so hot last year, they
scheduled "The Game" early this
year.) Rice returns a bunch of
lettermen and hopefully they will
not get injured. The screaming drunk
Cajuns are next. The Fighting Rice
Owl Band (experienced on Astro-
turf, after last year's Texas game)
also returns a bunch of lettermen
(the Ag is married, but still back)
and presents a sterling half-time
v show. We will be the best marching
band in the stadium. Make no mis-
take about it. Free with I.D.
After the Game: SCB Peace (sic)
Party in the RMC. .$4.25 per couple
advance and $4.50 at the door. Com-
bination buffet and party tickets:

Rings—The 1971 Rice rings
will be delivered on Tuesday \
September 22, Wednesday, Sep-
tember 23, and Thursday, Sep-
tember 24, 1970, in the RMC
between 8:30 am and 4 pm. If
for any reason students do not
qualify for their degree by
commencement, the ring must
be returned to the Office of the
Dean of Students. A refund will
be made, with the exception of
the $5.00 deposit. For those who
missed out last spring, orders
will again be taken on Wed-
nesday and Thursday. A non-
returnable £5.00 deposit it re-
quired at the time the order is
placed.
