Mutilated — Book mutilations
in Fondren Library are on the
rise, according to Mrs. Red-
mon, assistant head of the
catalogue department. Over
85 books, including five
volumes of the Annual Pro-
ceedings of the National Tax
Association, have had to be
replaced at costs of two to
twenty dollars per volume.
Periodicals also meet disaster
frequently. A special exhibit
of book mutilations has been
set up in the lobby of Fon-
dren, including a guillt-in-
ducing hand mobile. Most mu-
tilations are probably due to
non-Rice people who can't
check out books.
Women — They want to know
you think: attitudes on Wom-
en's rights, education, suc-
cess after graduation, and sex
roles in society are being
sampled by Bernard Baruch
College, New York. To par-
