the driver perform the proper
set of operations in order before
the car will start.The driver
must first, sit down on the seat,

already anticipating an adverse

Excommunication of the au-
thors of a controversial sex
book only helped increase sales
in Italy. The book, "Sex in the
Confessional", contains tran-
scripts of fake confessions pre-
pared by the authors and the
responses of different priests
to the situations. Apparently
there's nothing sacred anymore,

The Texas Court of Criminal
Appeals ruled last week that
a young man and a young wo-
man swimming nude in front of
eight other men might create
"tension" but that this was not
enough to justify the couple's
arrest for disturbing the peace.
Police arrested the two after
they came upon eight men
standing around a car on a
public beach on Lake Tyler.
Police spotted the man and told
him to come out of the water,
but he refused because he was
nude. Police then told him, "If
you went in that way you ought
to be able to come out that
way."
Officers "speculated" that
the presence of the woman
swimming nude in front of
eight men created a "tension".
One officer claimed, * ".Well,

Smoking in class has creat-
ed a small controversy at the
University of Houston, where
there is a regulation against
lighting up in class or in labs.
In a random survey, the Daily
Cougar reported that 63 out of
100 students questioned were
opposed to allowing smoking in
class. As of now, it's up to each
individual professor to decide
whether to enforce the rule or
not.
The Asociated Press reports
that many colleges across the
country are opening pubs on
campus as a result of lowered
drinking ages in many states.
Since 1971, the legal age has
been lowered in 19 states, with
12 more expected to lower the
age by July. A recent survey
showed that almost 25% of all
schools in the United States
have a place where students
can drink on campus.
Concern about possible car-
cinogenic effects has led the
FDA to ban the use of Violet
No. 1 dye for human consump-
tion. The dye is commonly used
for labeling meats, and its
widespread use has come about
largely as a substitute for one
of the red dyes which the gov-
ernment also banned a few
months ago. Incidentally, you
may not be aware of the source
of many artificial flavorings
used in foods. Cats.
Some of the most popular
tastes, including the ones used
in Kool-Aid, come from the
"unctuous glands" located near
the genitalia of the civet cat.
