Players' Play—For the first show
of the 1979-80 season, the Rice
Players will repeat their
production of the 1971 New York
Drama Critics Circle Award, The
House of Blue Leaves, by John
Guare. Variously called a "Marx
Brothers Tragedy," a "savage"
farce, and a "tempest of hilarity",
the play pits the sanity of a Queens
song writer/zoo keeper with a wife
literally gone bananas and an
unobliging mistress, against
Hollywood dreams of glory and
commercialized U. S. Catholicism.
The play will be presented
Wednesday, August 29, through
Saturday, September 1, at 8:00 pm
in Hamman Hall. For tickets call

KTRU—The radio at Rice will
hold an organizational meeting
next Thursday at 8pm in the ktru
studios in the RMC basement.
