Masters appoint
ROTC officers
The Masters' Committee has
appointed several Army ROTC
officers as community associates at
the residential colleges.
The officers' goal is to achieve
better coordination between
ROTC programs at the University
of Houston and at Rice.
Because the Houston base for
Army ROTC is at UH, Rice
—D. Kelley
students in the program must
commute to some classes that are
taught by officers stationed on the
UH campus.
Major Alfred F. Livaudais, an
associate at Sid Richardson
College, presented a proposal for
increased interaction between
officers and students with the
philosophy that it is necessary to
know a student in order to teach
him or her well. His goal is getting
a better idea of what Rice is like.
