Gass says U. Court Chair should show ethics in behavior

change of style is good, perhaps even
essential, for a college.

jurisdiction nor the power to punish the act
of slander. But when it is brought before the
University Court as evidence in an __ -
impeachment case, the court has all the UOOUCSDUfy
jurisdiction and power it needs.
Frisk Dahlberg's statements in the article
lend more legitimacy to impeachment than
they take away. First, I ask him to show me
examples of the hypocritical attitude he is so
tired of dealing with. I hardly think his fake
ID example is substantial evidence. By
defacing election signs, he altered the
outcome of an election unethically.
Frisk said he did not see how the SA could
legitimately judge him on moral behavior
because of the difficulty of defining it. It
seems fairly evident that what Mr. Dahlberg
did was unethical. Posting signs in the name
of his opponent which assert, "Vote for me
and I'll suck your dick," can only be
construed as unethical by Rice standards.
The University Court Chairman's role
necessitates the judging of students on the
basis of their ethics. Consequently, the SA
maintains that the University Court
Chairman sertainly should exhibit
exemplar}' ethics instead of a lack thereof.

I would like to clarify a couple of points
about the brief article in the April 24 edition
of the Thresher on the selection of new
masters for Hanszen and Will Rice Colleges.
The first point is that my remark to the
effect that the Waldmans "are different
people than we are," was intended simply to
underscore the fact that Hanszen College's
