STUDENT HELPERS
BAYLOR COLLEGE OF MEDICINE
Positions are available in a laboratory at Baylor
College of Medicine for students interested in partici-
pating in research projects involving gene therapy,
focusing on novel cell-based delivery systems for
therapeutic agents, with emphasis on the delivery of neurotrophic factors
for the injured central nervous system. These positions can be filled at the
level of Student Helper IV or Student Helper V, depending on the status
and previous experience of the applicant. The salary range is $7.57 to
$8.66 per hour. Hours will be variable, from 15 to 39 hours per week,
according to the arrangements made between the supervisor and the
individual student. Students will participate in hands-on experience in
the experiments being performed in the laboratory, which will include a
need for skills in molecular biology, including plasmid growth and prepa-
ration, the polymerase chain reaction, and DNA hybridization. Please
