OBITUARY
Friday, August 19, 1983, 5:30 a. m. at Wilford Hall,
Lackland, Texas - Melvin James Wormley, Sr.,
suffered a massive heart attack and slept away.
In about 1938, he volunteered to serve in the
Military Force and was inducted into the United
States Army where he faithfully served on several
battlefronts during World War II, and was honorably
discharged.
He leaves to mourn his homegoing a devoted wife,
Jean Parker Wormley, a dear mother, Mrs. lyiarcia
Edmondson, two sons, Melvin James Wormley, Jr
and Daniel Lynn Wormley; two brothers, Sterling
Wormley, Seaside, California and Ernest Wormley,
Austin, Texas; five sisters, Etta James, Julia B, and
Alberta Wormley; Betty J. Hollis and Mamie
Thompkins ail of Los Angeles, California, other
relatives and a host of friends.
If I can keep on believing what
I know in my heart to be true,
that darkness will fade with the
morning and THAT THIS WILL PASS
AWAY TOO-
Then nothing can disturb me or
fill me with uncertain fear, for
as sure as the NIGHT BRINGS THE
DAWNING "MY MORNING is bound to
appear-"
