State park junior clinics
teach youths about fishing
The Texas Parks and
Wildlife Department will
sponsor free Junior Angler
Clinics for boys and girls ages
six to 13 at the two state parks
in Bastrop County.
Junior anglers with their
parents are invited to go
through five learning and safe-
ty stations where the youths
will learn knot tying, casting,
how to set up a fishing rig,
what makes good fish habitat
and Texas fishing regulations.
Youths will receive a cer-
tificates after visiting the sta-
tions and then will be allowed
to fish.
No fishing licenses are
necessary. TPWD will supply
all fishing poles and bait.
Participants should bring
water, a hat, sun block and
should wear closed-toe shoes.
There will be four more class-
es over the summer.
The upcoming dates are:
June 2 at Bastrop State Park
June 16 at Buescher State
Park
July 14 at Bastrop State
Park
July 21 at Buescher State
Park.
All events are on Saturdays
from 9 a.m. until 12:30 p in.

the Bear Country Driving
Range on Texas 71.
The offer is for individuals

The range is open from 10
a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through
Saturday. Sunday hours are
noon to 9 p.m.
The price for buckets,
which can be shared, are $5 for
50, $7 for 85 and $10 for 160
balls.
