olfdancer course begins its second year
Wolfdancer Golf Club at The Hyatt
Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa
has five sets of tees, ranging from
7205 yards for the scratch golfer, to
4953 yards for the forward tees. The
Bastrop County golf course is m its
second year of operation. Here is a
hole-by-hole description of how to
play the course.
No. 1 Outward Right
At 420 yards, this medium-length,
dogleg-right plays along a gentle slope
to a remarkable green site. The inside
comer of the dogleg is guarded by sev-
eral bunkers carved into the par-4's
natural contour. A large hollow short
and left of the putting surface helps to
create individuality, deception and

to win in scramble
beauty.
No. 2 Mind the Gap
This 431-yard par-4 lies perfectly
on the right-to-left sloping terrain.
After a drive that negotiates a gentle
turn to the left, the approach must
clear a meandering creek that angles
its way across the line of play. By
design, the creek is 10-15 yards short
of the green, on the left. On the right,
it guards the raised, undulating putting
surface more closely.
No. 3 All of Texas
A sweeping par-5 of 603 yards, the
third plays across an enormous swath
of land along the property's highest
points. Take a moment to drink in the

golf scramble at Lost Pines
Golf Course.

team of Tommy King,
James Kielty, Wesley
King, Joe Smith and Travis
Parobek with a 6-under 30
score.
The third place team of
Mike Harm an. Chris
Dillon, Rene Barrientos,
Cannene Harm an and
Mike Strid shot 6-under
30.
Two other teams shot 6-
under. They were the team
of Ruben Torres, Roger
Torres, Pilar Pina and
Vincent Tijerina; and the
team of Gary Klaus, Kevin
Bartsch, Danny Davis,
Scott Clausen and Dianna
Green.
Shooting 4-under par
were two teams. Those
teams included Steve
Thompson, Stovy Bowlin,
Scottie Vandiver, R.C
Hollman and Tomn Casey
and the team of Gary Ellis,
Jimmy Hill, Lloyd Ellis,
Brian Talley and Paul
Tuttrup.
Fifty-five players com-

long, dramatic views of Central Texas
before picking a line of play amid the
landfonns and random bunkering
which dot the generous fairway on this
stunning, strategic, three-shot hole.
No. 4 Peak-A-Boo
This deceptive par-3 of 233 yards
plays downhill to a green site partially
hidden by a long, broad ridge that
begins near the tees. Two bunkers are
cut into the beginning of this ridge,
near the forward tees, to accentuate the
illusory nature of the challenge. A
mammoth greenside bunker fits natu-
rally below the green on the right, so
golfers don't be short.
