According to police,
on Feb. 17, Officer Lynn
Boydston and Officer
Michael Kirkwood arrested
Kevin Alexander, 41, of
Austin for assault causing
bodily injury. Officers were
dispatched to a disturbance
on Webb Street where
Alexander had allegedly
assaulted a family member,
police say. Alexander was
booked into the Smithville
jail and later transported to
the Bastrop County jail. His
bond was set at $10,000.
According to police,
on Feb. 17, Officer Greg
Stewart arrested three juve-
niles for graffiti. Records
show Officer Stewart
investigated a complaint of
graffiti at Smithville High
School which led to the
arrest of the juveniles. An
offense of graffiti on school
grounds is a state jail felony.
The juveniles were trans-
ported to the Smithville
Police Department and later
released to their parents.
According to police,
on Feb. 22, Officer Lynn
Boydston arrested Robert
Michael Prove, 35, of
Smithville for driving while
license invalid. Officer
Boydston stopped Prove on
Taylor Street for a traffic
violation and determined
his driver's license to be
suspended, records show.
Prove was booked into the
Smithville jail where he
was fined $1,072. Prove
was also issued citations for
failure to maintain financial
responsibility and expired
motor vehicle inspection,
police report.
According to police,
on Feb. 22, Officer Lynn
Boydston and Officer
Michael Kirkwood arrested
a 14-year-old after con-
firming the juvenile was
a runaway out of Bastrop.
Officers observed a vehicle
occupied by two persons in
a driveway with the motor
running for a long period
of time. The homeowner
stated the vehicle did not
belong at their residence.
The j uvenile was transport-
ed to the Smithville Police
Department and later trans-
ferred to Bastrop where she
was released to her par-
ents.
On Feb. 17, Lt. Lonny
Richardson presented two
SPD cases to the Bastrop
County Grand Jury. Samuel
Gauna Trevino, Jr., 28, of
Smithville was indicted on
a felony charge of driving
while intoxicated. Bobbie
Jo (Barbara) Carter, 56, of
Smithville was also indict-
ed on a felony charge of
driving while intoxicated.

of Quilts, Inc., showed her out-
standing quilt collection to the
Colorado Valley Quilt Guild at
their February meeting in La
Grange.
Quilts, Inc. is widely known
in quilting circles for its five
national quilt shows, including
the International Quilt Festival
in Houston, often called the
largest quilt show in the world.
Bresenhan was recently named
one of the three most influ-
ential persons in quilting by
Quilters Newsletter Magazine.
A collection of Bresenhan's
"crazy quilts" form a special
exhibit at the CVQG Best
Little Quilt Show in La Grange
this weekend.
