the power to accept or reject this excuse.
d. At the first meeting of the Senate each year, the Senate
may establish certain excusable reasons for absence.
e. A member of the Senate may appeal the decision of the
Executive Council to the Senate at the first scheduled
meeting following the decision. Appeals may then be taken
from the Senate to the Student Supreme Court.
Section 7. Committees
a. .;:c.urry Student Government committees may consist of
any number of Senators, Student Association members, or
other individuals associated with the College that the
President with the approval of the Senate, appoints.
b. McMiurry Student Government Standing Committees:
1. Election Committee, which shall plan, oversee, and
coordinate all McMurry Student Government elections.
2. Student Life Committee
a) It shall coordinate all McMurry Student government
social activities under the direction of the Vice
President.
b) It shall consist of the two subcommittee chairmen
which shall meet and function within the guide-
lines established by the Vice President.
c) These four subcommittees are as follows:
1) lomecoming Subcommittee
2) Spring hing Subcommittee
3) Film Subcommittee
4) Entertainment Subcommittee
3. Public Relations Committee, which shall formulate and
disseminate all :.cMurry Student Government publicity
at the request of the members of the Senate.
4. Political Awareness Committee, which shall coordinate
the distribution of local, state, and national political
campaiirn literature and shall strive to equitably in-
form the college e community on revelant political issues.
5. Liaison Committee, which shall seek to coordinate
revelant information from the McMurry Student Govern-
ment and t!M Student Association to the Board of
Trustees, the faculty, and the administration.
C. Food Committee, which shall seek to convey the concerns
of students related to the dining hall services
through regularly scheduled meeting with the dining
hall manager.
7. Intercollegiate Committee, which shall work with the
President in seeking to improve communications and
common interest with other college or university
student associations and their respective student
governments.
8. Organizations Committee, which with the consent of the
Senate, shall develop policies governing the recogni-
tion and conduct of all student organizations and
activities, and which shall execute those policies.
When this committee is not in session, its function
shall be handled through the office of the President,
