FINANCIAL AID SERVICES
Financial assistance is intended for those students who could not attend
college without it. This assistance may take any one, or any combination of
the following forms:(l) Scholarships, (2) Grants, (3) Loans, (4) Student
Work.
1. A student may receive only one tuition or academic scholar-
ship. If he qualifies for two, he may receive the scholar-
ship which has the larger dollar value.
2. Scholarships are available only for the fall and spring
te rms,
3. At least a 2.0 grade point average is required for all
scholarships.
4. Students receiving an endowed, ministerial, or activity
scholarship must maintain a 2.0 GPA. Students receiving
a Presidential Scholarship must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
5. Students must maintain the minimum requirements for good
standing as listed in the Catalog. A student who is
placed on suspension will be suspended from Financial Aid
from McMurry for one semester. Any appeals to this policy
must be brought before a committee composed of the Director
of Admissions, the Academic Dean, and the Director of Finan-
cial Aid.
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT
3. On-Campus--Each year there are a limited number of Opportunities
for employment in a varied number of jobs on the campus. The
amount a student has been awarded is the amount he may earn dur-
ing the school year and will not be credited to the students
account in advance. Work assignments are dependent upon his
skills and the jobs available. Job placement will be made
during the week of registration at the Financial Aid Office.
Time sheets must be kept daily and turned in to the Business
Office on the 25th of each month. Paychecks will be available
the 5th of the next month. If a student's account is paid in
full at the time he picks up his paycheck, he may keep the entire
check. If his account is not paid in full, he must apply at least
80% of his check to his account.
2. Off-Campus--A listing of available part-time jobs is maintained
in the Placement Office(Campus Center). These are the result
of local employers who call the College seeking persons to. work.
Students who are earnestly seeking employment should check the
listing at least once per week as new opportunities come in
almost every day.
Additional information about financial aid is listed in the college cata-
log or may be obtained at the Financial Aid Office, Room 107 of the Maedgen
building.38
