just spent 30 days at home.
Dog and Charlie companies are
on the range this week sharping
up their shooting eyes for record
fire. Record fire was held the 21
August.
The crown jewels of England
are kept in the Tower of London
guarded by the so-called Beef
eaters the Yeomen Warders who
still wear medieval uniforms.

Major Richard was appointed to
be assistant to the Post Executive
officer here at Fort Hood. Colonel
Asting is an armored officer.
The change of command was
officially announced Aug 17.
M-Sgt Frank Harden an or
ganist from way back helped en
tertain the inspecting party last
Thursday night at the Officer's
Club.
During the past weeks' general
inspection which is held each Sat
urday morning barracks number
one was chosen to be the most

week. He was awarded a 48 hour

completion of his military service
he plans to return to New York
where he will attend business
school.

The 4005th ASU MP Provisional
Detachment received fifty-eight
new men Friday August 21. The
se policemen will be regular Post
MPs with duties of patroling pull
ing gate guard and directing traf
fic.
Upon entering the Army April
10 these men were stationed at
he on of
Sill Oklahoma and Fort Sam Hou
ston. After a weeks stay they
received orders to be sent to the
Fourth Tank Battalion A Com
pany to train as tank gunners.
In the sixth week of training
regulations changed and the men
were alerted that the 91st Armor
ed Field Artillery was their in
tended home.
Then at the beginning of the sev
enth week orders were revoked
and a notice appeared saying that
this would be the last week of trai
ning. From here the men were
sent to the 4005th ASU Enlisted
Detachment for further assign
ment.
Effective as of the 23 of June
oi-ders sent them back to San An
tonio. This time their destination
was the 307th MP Training Bat
talion. Ther they spent a period of
sixty days taking advance training.
Finally after two months the
se men reported back to Fort Hood
and were assigned to the Post
military police completing the cy
cle begun last April.
