The club is relatively new the

Club members expect to hold
monthly meetings with the next
one scheduled for November 21.

Mrs. Sam Banks entertained
the ladies of the 501st Aviation
Company in her home with a
coffee November 17. Mrs. Roy
Dixson acted as co-hostess.

Eldon Beavers.
It was decided to sponsor a
needy family for Christmas as a
group project.
The wives met for a morning
of bowling every Thursday at the
Bowlerama in Killeen and have
formed a mixed couples league
which meets at 6 p.m. every Fri
day.

start taking reservations for New

Parade Of Fall Fashions
A showing of fall fashions enti
tled "Just for You" highlights
the November luncheon meeting
of the wives of 35th Engineer
Group officers Monday in the
Orient Room of the Fort Hood
Officers Club. Hostesses for the
affair were Mrs. Glen R. Clark
Mrs. Charles F. Craig and Mrs.
David L. Bowler.
Door prizes gifts from Mrs.
Ledger were awarded to Mrs.
Lewis Mrs. Shehan and Mrs.
Fred Stern.
It was announced that Mrs.
George H. Pickett Mrs. Donald U.
Jass and Mrs. Donald E. Driggs
would be hostesses for the next
meeting.
Decorations for the luncheon
carried out a harvest theme with
a golden wicker cornucopia filled
with wood roses and pyrocantha
berries flanked by three branch
silver candelabra holding lighted
white tapers providing the focal
point on the head table.
Hood Sodality
Holds Meet
The Fort Hood Sodality of Our
Lady of Perpetual Help recently
met at the Religious Education
Center. Mrs. G. S. Webb prefect
announced that Sodality members
were making a ceramic creche
set which will be awarded to
some member before Christmas
Mrs. Webb also requested that
canned goods be brought to the
37th Street West Chapel for do
nation to the St. Joseph's
teacherage.
The prefect also appointed Mrs.
Norman Peterson as chairman of
the social committee.
Hostesses for the meeting were
Mrs. M. Houle and Mrs. J.
Mehelich.
The next meeting of the Sodali
ty will be a breakfast on Dec. 4
in the Occident Room of the Fort
Hood Officers Club. The break

reception and Fall Formal dinner-
dance November 13.

After dinner which was en
joyed in an atmosphere de

Fort Hood Officers Club. The
event was the first assem
blage of fall units of the com
mand at Fort Hood and was
designed for members to be
come better acquainted.

fashioned after the colors of
the Old Ironsides patch were
artistically placed in the cen
ter and at each end of the
head table. The dinner tables
displayed miniature guidons
representing every company
size unit.
Wives of officers of the 1st
Cavalry wore name tags with
painted black hawk a symbol
appropriately related to the War
of 1812. The 6th Artillery contrib
uted an 18-inch high gold replica
of crossed cannons which was ex
hibited on the left ledge of the
ballroom. Crossed cannons were
used as decorations for the ladies
name tags ot that unit.
A blue alligator made of papier
mache kept vigil from the right
ledge of the ballroom. It is
symbol of the 6th Infantry de
rived from the Seminole Cam
paign in the FLorida Everglades.
Harmoniously a sizeable re
plica of the 1st AD patch
struck an imposing note above
the bandstand and towered
above a reproduction of a
train symbolizing every com
pany size unit of Division
Trains with a locomotive re
presenting headquarters.

Officers' Wives Club.
The group will depart from the
Officers' Club Main Lounge at 7
a.m. by chartered bus and will
leave Dallas at 8 p.m. for the
trip back to Fort Hood.
The roundtrip fare will cost
