A BRIEF SKETCH ON DOCTORS T. R. AND J. C. SEASTRUNK
(Information for this sketch came from a book entitled "Some Early
Southeast Texas Families" written by the late T. A. Wilson during
the 1930's. Also, Vaughn Seastrunk, son of the late Dr. Oliver
Seastrunk supplied additional information about the family. Ed.)
The old Dr. Seastrunk was practicing in Burkeville as far back
as I (Wilson) can remember. His sons were Tot and Frost. Gobe
Hines (M. D., Jr.), Tom Good, Charley Smith and Henry Booker married
his daughters. Hines married Priscilla and after his death, she
married Charles Smith. Tom Good's wife was Beatrice, and Henry
Booker married Callie.
Tot was a doctor and moved to Orange. I never knew this family,
but I think he had a son who made a doctor also. Dr. Tot's wife
was Judge M. D. Hine's daughter, Sarah. Frost Seastrunk was a
dentist and married Van Swearingen's sister, Lizzie. Ex-judge
Charlie Brown and Carroll Adams of Jasper married two of Dr. Frost's
daughters. Both Drs. Tot and Frost Seastrunk are dead. Carroll
Adams was a brother of Judge E. P. (Pat) Adams.
Tom Good, who married Beatrice, a sister of Drs. Frost and Tot,
was a lawyer. Henry Booker and his wife, Callie, lived in Kirby-24.
