To: C. R. Johns
Compr. Austin
Sir:
I send you a List of the Land which was unrendered for
taxation for the year 1861 which list I have made out according
to the best information that I can gather. I find it quite dif-
ficult (sic) on account of so many rendering there (sic) land in
the wrong name of the Original Grantee I have had this list some
time prepared ready for the inspection of the County Court as I
have failed to get the Court together and the time has passed
that it should have been sent. I will retain it no longer. The
form of Anuel (sic) Report of Specific Tax that you spoke of
sending to me has not been received yet. I am waiting for it to
make out my report by. I will wait some days yet for it. I have
no safe opportunity of sending you any money yet I will try to
avail myself of the first opportunity that I can in re doing from
your answer to my last letter it apears (sic) that you did not
understand me my question was concerning Specific Tax on mer-
chandize. My Book shows that the money colected (sic) last year
up to the report I sent you was paid over to the Treasurer nothing29.
