ORANGE COUNTY LAND RECORDS

In 1854 Stacy Collins and Sarah Collins each applied for
320 acres of land under the pre-emption laws. The improvements
on the land were purchased from the original settlers, William
Holland and Levi Holland respectively. The surveys for the two
tracts, made June 13 and 14, 1854 and the applications follow:
STACY COLLINS
The State of Texas,
County of Jefferson:
I Stacy Collins, do solemnly swear that I believe that I am
settled on vacant public land belonging to the State on which there
is no private claim, and that I have resided about five months on
the same, and that I purchased improvements from Wm. Holland who
settled and improved said premises on the 7th day of March A. D.
1853 and that I have never received a grant or donation of land in
the State, So help me God.
Stacy Collins
Sworn to and subscribed before me the 13th day of June A. D.
1854.42.
