HOLIDAY ENTERTAINMENT
The Christmas Tree and program,
is furnishing entertainment,for var-
ious church and social groups in
pro-holiday celebrations.
The Croebytoh Garden club
tured a Christmas tree and exchange
olLfcifta at their meeting on Friday
afternoon at the {Jmith House. 'Lit*
tie Bobbie HedriCk, son of Mr. aind
Mrs. Clifford Hedrick, played the
part of Santa Claus. Mrs. W. M. Jio-
mane was in charge of. the program.
She was assisted by Mrs. V. R. Hal-
torn who gave an instructive paper
on the Christmas Poinsetta. Miss
Jean Seiber read and Miss Louise
Curry played a piano solo.
Missionary Society To Hav,e Tree

the First Methodist church are in-
viting all the ladies of the church toiseore. The honoree, Miss Newton,

Miss Nina Newton was named as
honor guests when Miss Lucile Allen
entertained in the home of Mrs. J.
W. Carter Friday afternoon.
The apartments were lovely in
Christmas colors, holly wreaths, and
Christmas bells. The Christmas mo-
tif was carried out in the Bridge
tallies and in the refreshment plate
passed at the end of the afternoon's
games.

club was entertained by Mrs. "Owen
Crump at her home on ^South Berk-
shire Avenue. Guessing "Who • Was
Who" excited great amusement and
a lot of fun.

TO BE HELD AT PENSY SOON
At the close of the Workers Meet-
ing of the Floyd County Baptist As-
sociation held last week at South
Plains, it was voted to hold the
next meeting at Pansy, on the East
Plains, Rev. C. E. Dick said this
week. This meeting will be held oh
the First Sunday in January.

AT CLUB PARTY
The Christmas motif was cleverly
carried out at a club party Wednes-
day afternoon when Mrs. Edgar Hut-
chins entertained for members and
guests of the Wednesday Bridge club
at her home on North Farmer Ave-
nue Wednesday afternoon.
The chosen motif was featured in
the table appointments and the pret-
ty salad plate passed at tea time
Mrs. F. A. Green was high point
player for club members and Mrs.
Macon Swann for the guests. Mrs.
Frank Corn made high cut.
Other guests were Mesdames Bert
Black and Gorham. Miss Josephine
McBride. Club members were Mes-
dames Sep Smith, Carter Chase, H.
C. Oldham, C. M. Huddleston, G. M.

The pastor announces a special pro
gram of services Sunday, December
16. At the morning service "Orphan-
age Day," will be observed. Every
year, a special offering is taken for
the support of our orphanage at Wa-
co. Everyone is asked and urged to
come and bring a good, substantial
offering. Dr. arid Mrs. F. A. Green
will sing a duet.
At the evening hour, 7:30; a spe-
cial Christmas service will be held.
The Choir, assisted by members of
the other Church choirs, will give a
Chorus, "Selections from the Man-
ger of Bethlehem", by Lane. Miss
Mamie Gregg will play a violin of-
fertory. The pastor's subject will
be, "THE STAR IN THE EAST."
