At Monday Meeting

Woman's Society of Christian
Service for the new yeayvas held
in the church parlor Monday af-
ternoon, with Mrs. T. J. Patrick,
vice-president, presiding in the ab-
sence of Mrs. Arlie Fewell.
Those answering roll call were:
Mesdames D. H. Cornelius, Mary
E. Simpson, Marie Lamar, C. O.
Roy, H. C. Hoover, Q. L. Hames,
W. P. Lamar, H. S. Crausbay, J.
F. Roberts, Glenford Fowler, T. J.
Patrick, Lloyd Hamilton and Pat.
Mrs. Hamilton conducted the
worship service, reading Luke 1
26-28, and telling the story 6t Ma-
ry, mother of Jesus. —
Mrs. Hoover opened the study,
"Women of Scripture", asking
each member to bring each week
a sketch of the life of some good,
local woman, from which the wo--
man of the week will be chosen, to
be entertained by the society at
the end of the six-weeks study.
She waa assisted by Mrs. Hames
reading the story of Sarah, the
mother of Isaac; Mrs. Crausbay
telling of the mother of Moses
and Mrs. Roberts, who read of
Hannah, the mother of Sfemuel.

Regular Meeting In
Lige Ellison Home
The Euzalian Sunday school
class of the First Baptist church
met in the home of Mrs. Lige El-
lison on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 3 p.
m. for the regular monthly meet-
ing. The class president, Mrs. Os-
car Jones, was in charge of the
short business meeting.
A basket of food was packed to
be carried to a needy family. At
the close of the business meeting
a social hour was enjoyed by the
group. Delicious refreshments
were served to the following: Mes-
dames I. W. Collier, Oscar Jones,
Frank McClure, Clarence Moore
and daughter, Linda, Sam Grizzle,
the hostess, Mrs. Lige Ellison, and
co-hostess, Mrs. John Harvey.

All of Mrs. Fowler's children

Mex.; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bass
of Muleshoe, Mr. and Mrs. W. W.
Brents of Floydada, Miss Geleta
Bingham of Austin, Mr. and Mrs.
Wilburn Bingham of Crosbyton.
On Monday night after Christmas
Mr. and Mrs. Elvis Fowler of Ti-
sumingo, Okla., were guests in the
O. C. Fowler home.
Thurman and Stanley Tucker
of Amarillo and Brownie Smith
were Christmas holiday guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tucker and
family of Bentonville, Ark.
Mr. C. C. Smith and son, Bluie,
Mr. Loyd A. Fowler and Gujn
Dale, went on a fishing and hun
ing trip to Junction. Gwin Dale
said they didn't have any luck.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Fowler had
as their Monday evening guests
Mr. and Mrs. F. L. West and Mr.
and Mrs. D. Adams.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brixey, Ken-
neth and Judy, are visiting rela-
tives at Weslaco.
Miss Geleta Bingham will return
to school at Austin Wednesday af-
ter spending the holidays with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Fow-
ler.
Mr. and Mrs. Otis Justus ana
children returned home Saturday
from San Diego, Calif., where
they spent the holidays visiting
her brother and family and her
sister.
Mr. and Mrs. Glenford Fowler
had as their Wednesday night
supper guests Mrs. OrB. McNeely
and son of Weslaco, Mr. and Mrs.
C. M- Kiker and family of Floyda-
da, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kiker of
Plainview, and Mr. and Mrs. W.
L. Flatt of San Marcos.
Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Easter and
children of Maryneal spent Christ-
mas with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Bill. Parker.
Miss June-Fowler, a beauty op-
erator at Arlene's Beauty School
in Lubbock, waa home Friday
through Sunday. June was sick
with the flu.
Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Flatt re-
turned home Saturday to San
Marcos after spending a week
with, her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Glenford Fowler and family.

of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Parker
and boys were Mrs. Raymond Bo-
ren and children, Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Blocker, Mrs. Loyd A. Fowler and

Mrs. Lulu Steele returned home
Tuesday after spending the week
in Floydada.
