For Sew Mor Club
The Sew Mor club met with
Mrs. Fred Dines Friday, July 6.
Due to illness, new babies, out-,
of-town company, vacations and
summer work, only eight mem-
bers were present.
After sewing and exchanging
gifts, refreshments were served
to the following: Mmes. Keith
Brashear, Jack Beeson, Frank
N. Brixey, Blake Briscoe, Virgil
Chron, Bill McCray, J. W. Wood,
and the hostess, Mrs. Fred Dines.
The next meeting will be with
Mrs. Bob Erwin.

Wesleyan Guild Enjoy
Dinner and Program
Prospective members of the
Wesleyan Service Guild of the
Methodist church were guests at
a dinner Monday, July 9, at 8
p. m., in the church Fellowship^
Hall.
After a word of welcome by
the president, Mrs. Joe Lemonds.
and invocation by Mrs. Herbert
Hoover, dinner was served to 39
members and guests.
Beautiful costumes of Italy,
Holland, China and the Ameri-
can Indian were used in an im-
pressive program presented in
the sanctuary immediately fol-
lowing the dinner. The program,
a demonstration utilizing the
Wesleyan Guild symbols, was
given by members, Mesdames
Jimmie Karr, Clifford Fisher,
Olen Littlefield, Curt Strickland.

WEDDINGTOR GRANDSON
AT PORTALES, N. MEX.
Mrs. C. I. Sieber attended the
wedding of her grandson, Cpl.
T. V. Meacham, jr., and Miss IVJo-
zelle Harper, which was held at
the home of the bride's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Harper, near
Portales, N. Mex., on June 14.
Rites were read at 6 p. m. by
the Rev. Alfred Richard of the
Calvary Baptist church of Por-
tales. Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Meach-
am, sr., live near Portales.
Potted palms and a basket ar-
rangement of snapdragons, glad-
ioli, shasta daisies, bridal
wreath and net, tied with a yel-
low bow, set the scene for the
double ring ceremony.
The bride, given in" marriage
by her father, was groomed in
white-lace over/White satin, bal-
lerina
ed neckline
in a bow in' the front. 1 _
The groom was attended by
Walter Roy Meacharti, his broth-
er, as best man.
The bride is a graduate of Gra-
dy high school with th? class of
1950. She has been employed at
J. C. Penney company in'" Por-
tales.
Cpl. Meacham is a 1948 grad-
uate at Portales high school. He
attended Eastern New Mexico
University two years, and joined
the air corps in August, 1950. He
deceived part of his training at
Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls,
and is now stationed at Samp-
son AFB, Geneva, N. Y., where
the couple will make tfTelr home.
